Publisher's summary

The brilliant new Lucas Davenport thriller from the number-one New York Times best-selling author.

"Sandford's track record as a best-selling author is amazing, but it's not an accident," wrote Booklist of Wicked Prey. "His plotting is sharp, his villains are extraordinarily layered, and his good guys are always evolving.

And this time, there's a storm brewing...Very early, 4:45, on a bitterly cold Minnesota morning, three big men burst through the door of a hospital pharmacy, duct-tape the hands, feet, mouth, and eyes of two pharmacy workers, and clean the place out. But then things swiftly go bad, one of the workers dies, and the robbers hustle out to their truck-and find themselves for just one second face-to-face with a blond woman in the garage: Weather Karkinnen, surgeon, wife of an investigator named Lucas Davenport.

Did she see enough? Can she identify them? Gnawing it over later, it seems to them there is only one thing they can do: Find out who she is, and eliminate the only possible witness.

One of My Favorite LD Books

All I have to say is...this one is twisted. The two "bad guys" are the most hilarious duo.

Okay

Not my favorite John Sanford novel. Too many characters so that you could not get into any of them. I prefer Eric Conger as the narrarator.

Thrilling bur OK at best

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

No.

If you’ve listened to books by John Sandford before, how does this one compare?

I get tired of the technical ignorance. Guns, cars, everything mecahanical is mis represented and hold no truths.

This author, while having liberal tendancies, exudes those and has no clue as to the technical stuff. Even a moron knows that the engine is in the back of a Porsche-911. That sort of innacuracy spoil the novel for me.

Come on John, get your facts straight and Editors. Where are you????

Which scene was your favorite?

None

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Horny Cop-No marals.

Very enjoyable

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Great plot, writing and character development.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Weather, the female surgeon. Sanford does a great job of describing the committment, challenges of being a mother, wife and surgeon, and the calm demeanor needed to be an ourstanding surgeon working under unbelievable stress.

What about Richard Ferrone’s performance did you like?

We love his performances. His voice is a pleasure to listen to, and he uses it to help bring out the feelings of the characters in a meaningful way.

Lucas is still at it, though a little close 2 home

What did you love best about Storm Prey?

If I started the Prey series with this book it may have been a little to cheesy, with the separation music and plot a little to close to home. That said, Storm Prey had a better ending then many of John Sandford's books, in my opinion.

What other book might you compare Storm Prey to and why?

All Prey series

What three words best describe Richard Ferrone’s performance?

Excellent as usual.

Any additional comments?

Lose the music between changes in chapters and subject matter.

John Sanford does not disappoint

I love the characters of Luke Davenport, his wife Winter and all his colleagues within the police force- The details of each person comes to life.I find myself nodding, laughing, frowning and understanding the different reactions!.John Sanford does not disappoint. ,
When listening to a book, the narrator has a very important role: the number of characters Richard Ferrone brought to life is amazing.
Excellent and easy entertainment!

One hell of a ride

Very good! Once again John Sanford proves why he's the master! I've read or listened to just about everything he's written and this is one hell of a ride! I love his Davenport stories!

The evil Dr. Barakat

The characters in this book were great. Dr. Barakat is dripping with evil. Cappy is void of any redeeming social values. The Mack brothers were bad guys but occasionally would show a hint of decency, especially Joe. To the rescue comes Lucas Davenport, ably assisted by another Sandford protagonist, Virgil Flowers. And then there's narrator Richard Ferrone. The voice he uses when bad guys say dumb things made me laugh out loud. If you don't mind graphic violence (remember folks, it's fiction) and you like a thriller with interesting characters read by a talented narrator, then download this book. It's one of the best in the Prey series and I think I've listened to them all.
