Publisher's summary

Beautiful, happily married, and the owner of a successful interior design business, Casey Marshall couldn't be more content with her life, until a car slams into her at almost 50 miles an hour, breaking nearly every bone in her body and plunging her into a coma.

Lying in her hospital bed, Casey realizes that although she is unable to see or communicate, she can hear everything. She quickly discovers that her friends aren't necessarily the people she thought them to be - and that her accident might not have been an accident at all. As she struggles to break free from her living death, she begins to wonder if what lies ahead could be even worse.

I Stayed Up ALL Night Listening To This One...

This book certainly made me rethink my Health Care Proxy & I sure didn't feel like my time had been wasted with this book. Joy Fielding gripped me right in the first chapter and got right to it.

A very descriptive and seductive story line I felt the rage, anger, anxiety, loss of control and the sadness of the whole situation. It wasn't obvious who the good and bad were until the second part of the book and that's when it REALLY gets good. I seriously wanted to kick some ass at the end. The narrater was pretty impressive which made the listen extra enjoyable.

Good read for winding down

For someone who enjoys a fantasy filled adventure this read was a bit slow for me. However, it excited my senses at unexpected moments and I found myself wanting the next few pages. I'd recommend the story for those looking for something to read while winding down for the evening.

another one of Joys great writing

even though at times it seem to slow down... the story kept you engaged. Some is predictable and some is not. Over all this is a good read.

Boring and melodramatic. Stupid plot.

A very interesting story line

This book really makes you think about what happens when someone is not conscious... Can we really comprehend what is going on around us? I liked the story line very much and narrator did a pretty good job of going from character to character. I recommend giving it a listen - probably not one I'll listen to repeatedly, but worth it nonetheless.

Good Enough To Replace Stolen CDS!

I was about a third of the way into listening to a set of CDs my friend loaned me when my car got broken into and the thief stole the CDS (HA! S/he only got half the book I had taken some into the house!). Anyhow, there I was trying to decide if it was worth a credit to get it on audible. I thought it might be too silly, but I am glad I did. It was well narrated and suspenseful. A good twist on the thriller genre, and not gory at all. I can't really say much more for fear of spoiling. A good listen; well worth a credit even if you only need half of it!
