Publisher's summary

In Paul Doiron's Stay Hidden, a supposed hunting accident becomes a dangerously complicated murder investigation in this intricately-plotted new audiobook thriller featuring Maine Game Warden Mike Bowditch.

A woman has been shot to death by a deer hunter on an island off the coast of Maine. To newly promoted Warden Investigator Mike Bowditch, the case seems open and shut. But as soon as he arrives on remote Maquoit Island he discovers mysteries piling up one on top of the other.

The hunter now claims he didn’t fire the fatal shot and the ballistic evidence proves he’s telling the truth. Bowditch begins to suspect the secretive community might be covering up the identity of whoever killed Ariel Evans. The controversial author was supposedly writing a book about the island's notorious hermit. So why are there no notes in her rented cottage?

The biggest blow comes the next day when the weekly ferry arrives and off steps the dead woman herself. Ariel Evans is alive, well, and determined to solve her own “murder” even if it upsets Mike Bowditch’s investigation and makes them both targets of an elusive killer who will do anything to conceal his crimes.

A really good read

I have read every work from Paul Doiron. I have never been disappointed, and I wasn’t with this book. It must be incredibly hard to conceive new plots to entertain and Mr. Doiron does this incredibly well. I continue to highly anticipate each and every new novel, and especially the new plot line.

The story

Really enjoy the character development and the story about the island. Don’t like how Stacey has developed.

Best of Bowditch

I have read or listened to most of the Mike Bowditch series and Stay Hidden is now my favorite. Good pace and classic Bowditch beginning to end. The story line keeps you guessing who did it to the end.

More, I need another installment

Paul Doiron has written another excellent installment in Mike Boditch series. It had all the elements expected. Henry Leyva gave a wonderful performance as he brought it all to life.

Another good one

Terrific series. Keep Hidden continues the story of Warden Mike Bowditch. The narrator does a good job with Maine accents. But his mispronunciation of ‘gunwale’-at least as I know it to be pronounced in New England, more like ‘gunnel’ than ‘gun whale’-was a little weird.

Good read

Another really good book in the series, hard to top some of the others but this comes close. Not sure why the author needed to bring politics into the book but that did not make a difference in this review.

Doesn’t disappoint

Always engaging, Mike Bowditch stories keep me interested, don’t drag and have plenty of action. This one didn’t disappoint.
