Publisher's Summary

What happens when old spies come out to play one last game?

In New York, a young Cuban called Tito is passing iPods to a mysterious old man. Such activities do not go unnoticed, however, in these early days of the War on Terror. Across the city, an ex-military man named Brown is tracking Tito's movements. Meanwhile in LA, journalist Hollis Henry is on the trail of Bobby Chombo, who appears to know too much about military systems for his own good.

With Bobby missing and the trail cold, Hollis digs deeper and is drawn into the final moves of a chilling game played out by men with old scores to settle....

great audiobook

Where does Spook Country rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I loved all WG's audiobooks on Audible.

What did you like best about this story?

I am an obsessive WG's reader, and these audiobooks have given me the opportunity to make a totally new experience. having read each of WG's books many times, the audiobook has been a welcome way to renew the experience.
All of the WG's audiobooks that I have found on Audible are top quality, great recording, great voices, great readers and all unabridged.
Can only recommend all of them.

What about Robertson Dean’s performance did you like?

Although all performers of WG's audiobooks are great performers and all give an astonishing performance, I must confess I am partial to Robertson Dean's performance.
His voice, in my perception, sounds extremely Gibsonian, so to say

A fun noir mystery

Enjoyed this noirish Gibson story. Compelling story and good characters in a well written plot.

Hard to engage

This is clearly a work of art, and is probably not for the casual reader.
In order to enjoy the book, the reader needs to understand the series and be willing to become immersed. I'm going to come back to this sometime and give it another try. Not easy listening in my opinion
