Publisher's summary

New York Times best-selling authors Lisa Jackson, Nancy Bush, and Rosalind Noonan unite their talents in this riveting novel of family secrets, obsession, and murder

A killer's patience…

Twenty years ago, a fire ravaged the Dillinger family's old homestead, killing Judd Dillinger and crippling his girlfriend. Most people blamed a serial arsonist who'd been seen around town. But strange things are happening in Prairie Creek, Wyoming, again.

…will be rewarded

Ira Dillinger, the family's wealthy patriarch, has summoned his children home for his upcoming wedding. Eldest son, Colton, and his siblings don't approve of their father's gold-digging bride-to-be. But someone is making his displeasure felt in terrifying ways, setting fires just like in the past. Only this time, there will be no survivors.

…in blood

As fear and distrust spread through Prairie Creek, soon all the Dillingers, and those closest to them, are targets - and suspects. A killer has been honing his skill, feeding his fury, and waiting for the moment when the Dillingers come home - to die…

ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE

95 percent icky, poorly written romance novel and 5 percent murder mystery. There was little suspense and the "scary parts" were mere interludes between cringe worthy sex scenes and family drama. The narrator plays multiple characters with a whiny, sickly sweet voice --- even some of the so called masculine characters. I can't say enough negative about this book. This is one of the worst books that I have listened to and I am even more irritated because the cover claimed this book was "the scariest novel of the year". Hardly.

Don't Bother

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

If Lisa Jackson had written this book by herself. The book is broken down into three parts. The first part is written by Lisa Jackson. Very well written and the book starts out with promise. Then they say - Second part written by Rosalind Noonan and the book takes off into another direction and immediately you have no idea what the story is about. It gets worse when Part three starts written by Nancy Bush.

Has Sinister turned you off from other books in this genre?

I thought it was a romantic suspense and to be honest I have no idea what kind of book it was.

Have you listened to any of Hillary Huber’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

She did a good job as a narrator.

What character would you cut from Sinister?

All of them. This is a book with no direction. Too many love interest to keep up with. This is not the kind of book Lisa Jackson writes. I am a huge fan of Ms. Jackson and I am disappointed that she attached her name to this book.

Any additional comments?

I will not purchase a book in the future that Lisa Jackson writes with co authors. A huge waste of a credit.

STOP - unless you enjoy flaying to death of humans and animals,

casual compulsive adultery with reckless unprotected sex by so many characters that several have no notion who their father is. This sad and sorry drivel is both disgusting AND a dead bore.

As always ❣️❣️

I can't say enough, but just kept listening until finished like I was back in high school and would read until finished, long nights with out sleep cuz I couldn't put down until the last page was turned!! same thing now but as I have gotten older and vision isn't like back then, but the need to get to the last word is still the same!!

Another winner!

I am a big Lisa Jackson and Nancy Bush fan. Although this was in 3 parts with each part being written by a different author, the story blended seamlessly together. The plot was well constructed and keeps the listener on the edge of their seat. Bravo ladies.

Intriguing story

Loved all the characters and the story line, kept me wanting to listen. The story didn't stray of track and kept me interested. The narrator did a great job with a strong voice but every now and then she talked so quiet we couldn't hear her, it was very annoying.

Unable to put it down!

The narration was excellent! Tne writers made the characters so believable. The part I liked the best is when you realize that it is two different villains doing the damage!
