Publisher's Summary

Not even the warning label on the experimental project could have prepared Jane Spears for the nightmare she would walk into when the Ashley Potter case landed in her lap. Deep inside the victim's mind, Jane finds clues hinting at the worst crimes she has ever come upon. But the bread crumbs don't lead anywhere, and in the waking light Jane discovers nothing is as she believed. The conspiracy goes deeper than she can reveal, and the crimes are too hideous to leave unsolved. But can she stop it all in time, or will she be sucked in - trapped by the deranged mastermind?

scary and bizarre

it took a little while to figure out what was going on. I had not listened to the 1 st book in the series so don't know how much that would have helped. good twist on crime fighting.

Better than the first book!

Now I can't wait to read the next one! Jane is such a great character, can't wait to see what happens next.

weird, strange, I don't get it.

The first one was great. Maybe I expected too much from a sequel, but I got to the end and was going: Huh? No spoilers here, but the twist reminded of M. Night Shamaylan about the plants poisoning people, not the "I see dead people."

Good storyline

Really enjoyed this story and the narration, only negative I can think of is that the accents need a bit of work.

Beware, this is NOT the sequel to Shadow&Bone by Leigh Bardugo

I purchased this book in error, as it was promoted as the sequel to Shadow and Bone ( Leigh Bardugo). This is a different author (as I realized too late) and a completely different series. (And nothing I would be interested in reading. Yes I tried it, always open to finding new authors, but yuk) caveat emptor.

Too much detail

The story was hard to follow. Depressing for the most part. Way too much time spent on the minutiae of every situation.

Excellent Series

Found and it wasn't what I expected but I'm so glad I listened. a story so well written and unpredictable it keeps you listening to see what's next.

something different

Good 2nd book and I'm really looking forward to more. Im enjoying how unique the story line of the series is. My only problem was with the narrators' loud and heavy breath intakes. It almost made me stop listening towards the end of the book.
