Publisher's Summary

Six years ago, Jack Till helped Wendy Harper disappear. But now her ex-boyfriend and former business partner, Eric Fuller, is being framed for her presumed murder in an effort to smoke her out, and Till must find her before tango-dancing assassins Paul and Sylvie Turner do. With masterful plotting and unnerving psychological insight, Thomas Perry delivers another mesmerizing thrill ride.

Brilliant prose for an action adventure novel

What did you love best about Silence?

The way Mr. Perry crafts a character, with beautiful economy and a wonderful sense of social psychology is a treat.

Who was your favorite character and why?

They are all well drawn--it feels just like a movie with great casting

What about Michael Kramer’s performance did you like?

Mr. Kramer is one of the absolute best--up there with George Guidall. I really appreciate the lack of histrionic vocal gymnastics--he is tight, spare, with wonderful pace.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

With the wonderful plotting and the top flight narration, I could have listened forever!

Any additional comments?

I have listened to over 500 books from Audible--this author/narrator combination really deserve your attention

Narrator puts on ridiculous voices.

Perfect book for audio. Unfortunately, the narrator puts on ludicrous voices for the bad guy (sounds like Chris Parnell, hard to take seriously) and every woman in the story. (They weakly sigh out every word.) I will avoid this narrator in the future.

Typical Thomas Perry

What did you love best about Silence?

Story immediately pulls you in, in spite of the violence. Like other Thomas Perry books, one learns "how to do" things if you want to disappear. All his books become "self-help" if you need to disappear or overcome violence.

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

Performance was okay, it does not become the focus. It allows the story to be the focus.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

To live, disappear smart!

I Felt Cheated at the End

Unless there is a follow-up to this book -- I Felt Cheated at the End. It seemed like a really good book, things were going well, then it just ended abruptly. I felt cheated and somewhat violated. Just another chapter or two could have ended it nicely. Perhaps there is another book coming, otherwise I feel there was NO closure. I can't sleep at night now, I am not eating well, I can't perform in the bedroom any longer, I feel cheated after giving it so much.

Couldn't stop listening!

Thanks to Audible for listing this book for $4.95, and to Richard from San Anselmo for his review! This is one of the better audiobooks I've tried lately, and Kramer is now my favorite American narrator.

Dr Phil would love it

If i wanted to listen to someone talk about relationships for ten hours, I wouldn't look for books in the thriller/mystery section. This one is clearly mislabelled. Boring, lacking pace, inadequate action of any sort. In short a true waste of time, unless of course you want to explore the nature of relationships between a man and a woman.

It's gotta be said - Boring Boring Boring

Sorry - But this book was a huge dissapontment. I listened to Sleeping Dogs & even though it is not my norm - I thought it was o.k..... But this was a horible turn for the worse. I tried - I really did. Hated it an hour in. Struggled to the end of the first part. Made it to 3/4 of the 2nd part and couldn't take it. The killer team Man/Woman were soooo unprofessional - You would think anyone could run out and start killing people. The female part was especially aweful. The main character has a daughter with Downs Syndrome. I know there are different levels - But if you make that a main issue - Maybe you shouldn't make her one of the smartest mos intuitive people I know... Give her a claw foot or hand if you want a reason for the mom to leave. Glad I only spent a credit - But I would want that back too. I think writing is a very hard skill & I hate writing bad reviews - But somebody's got to be the voice of reason here. So dramatic on the female side of things - Some guys out there might want to check the expiration date on their man cards if they loved this story line...........

Nice job, Kramer

I confess I really didn't have high hopes for this book, but as it got going, I found it to be an interesting story line. I didn't realize that many locations were being mispronounced (seems to be a big issue for many reviewers). For me, Michael Kramer is a fantastic narrator of suspense, so I enjoyed it. Even the ending (though sort of dark) was good.
