Wonderful stories well read

Derek Jacobi is in my opinion the best Sherlock Holmes narrator. Easy listening I found it to be very entertaining.

Splendid!

The stories are magnificent and stand proudly among the best literature of all times.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Sherlock, naturally!

Which character – as performed by Derek Jacobi – was your favorite?

Again, Sherlock

Any additional comments?

Jacobi is a star and has outdone himself. But then he is a brilliant actor and reader.

Great stories

Always wanted to read the original novels, with audiobooks I was able to fight boredom at work with these short murder mysteries. Always fun to see what others have used from the original stories of Arthur C. Doyle in newer television series like Sherlock and Elementary.

Quite charming and original.

Even though the stories follow the same general formula, they still manage to have some individuality from the next, leaving you wanting more especially in the adventure of The Cornish Horror.

A Perfect Pair

If you could sum up Sherlock Holmes: His Last Bow in three words, what would they be?

a fun escape

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

It's short stories that I know well, so no, not on the edge of my seat.

Which scene was your favorite?

N/A

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, but instead I listened to it to and from work.

Any additional comments?

I love Derek Jacobi's voice and reading of anything. I love Sherlock Holmes. So they are the perfect pair.

Sherlockian Logic Keeps Us Riveted

The stories I have heard before but are well chosen. Only the last was unfamiliar but enjoyed thoroughly. The narration was first rate except for an occasional difficulty in distinguishing which character was speaking. The emotional message and excitement carried the day. It is definitely worth a listen.

Nobody does it better!

Any additional comments?

I have many versions of Sherlock Holmes in my audio library, but Derek Jacobi is the perfect narrator! This is one version that I listen to over and over.

Holmes read by Jacobi: What more needs to be said?

The greatest series of Btitish detective stories read by one of the greatest British actors can only mean great succcess. This late collection of Sherlock Holmes tales is given the royal treatment by Sir Derek. Even for those, like myself, who have read and reread the collection, hearing it in Jacobi's splendid voice makes it sound brand new again. I highly recommend.
