Publisher's summary

When a child goes missing, his mother asks me to help. After all, she believes he was taken by a monster and that’s my field of expertise. The search leads to the storm drains of Dearmont; not a good place to be when you’ve seen as many horror movies as I have.

Turns out the monstrous kidnapper is also responsible for the mysterious disappearance of a patient from a psychiatric hospital nearby. And as I investigate further, I'm pushed into the waiting arms of an old nemesis.

Missing children, fishy creatures, and icy curses are all in a day’s work for Harbinger P.I. But when Mister Scary shows up, the hardest job is staying alive.

My name is Merlin. ..

This series just keeps getting better and better. A very spooky villain as a backdrop to a tale of experimentation and the affects of those around said.
The Authurian ties get stronger but they are not the be all of the tale.
In hunting Mr Scary to the Shadow lands Alec and Felicity stumble on the remains of a black cabal experiment that touches the lives of the Martin family, the mother of whom hires Alec to find her missing son.
Now the wait is in for the next book.
Love Greg Tremblay's narration as he beautifully voices Alec.

Fantastic series

Fantastic narration. Greg Tremblay was the perfect choice for this series. He keeps all the characters distinct throughout the series and even gets the regional accents right. He is truly amazing. This is a series worth listening to over and over.

Solid Series, Solid Writing, Solid Narrating

The books are a little shorter than most, but still long enough to put together a good Preternatural Investigative story.

I have enjoyed listening to the whole series so far, and I have decent respect for the narrator Greg Tremblay.

Excellent Urban Fantasy

I'm totally hooked on this series and really feel it has hit an excellent stride with this book. Loved the interweaving of the different subplots and the characters are well developed. I'm really looking forward to book 6.

Love the series, but what's with the accents?

I took a chance on the audio version of this book, as I love the series! However, everyone except Felicity (who's forced British accent is barely tolerable) and Alec, sound like a mix of Boston and New Hampshire accented voices. Not everyone in Maine has the JFK speech pattern.
I still love the series, but will stick to the kindle books. I'd give the story 5 stars, but other than the main protagonist 's voice, I had a tough time with the narration and took it down to just 4.

THIS IS A GREAT SERIES!

I have enjoyed this series and every time a new one comes out it is just as enjoyable. I love Greg Tremblay's narration. He makes the story come even more alive. His voice acting is fantastic. i will sometimes by the audible just because he is voicing it. But if you enjoy a lot of action throughout i suggest this series.

Another wonderful installment

I would compare this series to the Dresden files if the books weren't as short, by comparison. That being said, the quality of the stories are as equal to The Dresden Files & I am glad of it being that the series seems to be winding down & there wasn't anything available in it's place. Then came Harbinger P.I. Thank you Adam Wright! Looking forward to book 6.
