It's been five months since a killer walked free, and DCI Ryan is preparing to leave Newcastle to hunt him down - this time for good.

But Ryan's plans are scuppered when events take a dramatic turn and he is forced to stay and face his past one last time or watch a friend suffer the consequences.

Amid the chaos, another killer is preparing to strike. When the Tyne Bridge explodes, Ryan's team are faced with a frantic race to uncover a deadly foe who won't stop until every bridge is burned, along with everybody on it....

Murder and mystery are peppered with romance and humour in this fast-paced crime whodunit set amidst the spectacular Northumbrian landscape.

Love this Series!

I did enjoy this book the most recent in the series. I come from Newcastle so my enjoyment is enhanced because I recognize so many of the places in the books. Of course they still are great books even if you have never been there. The series has interconnected stories so I advise reading them in order. LJ Ross has created great characters and knows how to keep the tension mounting. She also is quite capable of delivering surprises you didn’t see coming.

Another very good DCI Ryan Instalment

I'm a very big fan of this series, and of Jonathan Keeble as a narrator. Once again Ryan and his murder detective team are thrown into the midst of what initially seems like a terrorist threat, though it soon becomes evident that there is much more going on than meets the eye.
Surprised by the turn of events for Lucas, and it will be interesting to see how the story develops for young Jack Lowerson.
if you enjoy a fast paced murder mystery, then you'll really enjoy this series. Seven Bridges is a very creditable addition to the series, though I do think a few of the earlier instalments are better. That said, definitely worth a credit.
Jonathan Keeble fantastic once again.
Recommended.

A silly story with little substance and possibly the worst ending I have ever come across, save your money.

Much better!

I was a little disappointed with the previous 2 books, but this is the team back to their very best.
Some interwoven plot which I dont want to spoil, but a great listen, could not put down!
And the ending promises more sleuthing to come!
Phillips & Loweson are particularly outstanding

Another great book

Always know I’m in for a good listen with L J Ross & Ryan ... good story keeps you involved . Not too gory either though sometimes I know it’s important to paint the picture . I just wish there was a rating as have had to return some titles as they are just gratuitous in their descriptive.
I look forward to the next book .

Not his best

The Ryan series is great and I’d hoped this would be as good. However, whilst it is a decent story, it is not as powerful as its predecessors. I hope the next one is stronger in plot. I do enjoy the beautiful Northumberland setting though.
