Publisher's summary

Nothing is deeper than the desire they can’t fight - or deadlier than the evil they can’t escape.

They were only supposed to have a professional relationship, but FBI agent Kyle McKenzie has been fantasizing about his sexy partner, Cadence Hollow, from the moment they first met. It takes the darkest case of their careers to finally bring their hidden desire bubbling to the surface. Once they’re in each other’s arms, though, they swear that nothing short of death will part them. The Night Hunter - a cunning stalker whose four-state, 15-year abduction spree began in Paradox, Alabama, with Kyle’s sister - may be only too happy to oblige.

In the small town, Kyle must confront the painful past he’s been hiding from Cadence. Kyle vows to put the Hunter behind bars…or in the ground. But the one thing that obsesses Kyle more than his sister’s grim fate - his furious love for Cadence - is the weapon the Hunter will use to lure his pursuers into the mouth of a murderous trap.

Horrible narrator; poorly-written story

First, the narrator has a high, nasal voice which makes it hard to tolerate for long periods. Beresford didn't improve in this third installment and I ended up aborting the audio and just reading the ebook.

Even that proved difficult because the author got a lot of details mixed up, which disrupted my reading as I had to keep going back to check if I remembered wrong or the author was making mistakes. It was the author. The obvious lack of quality editing plus the unpleasant narration made this a dismal experience.

ok but not fantastic

If you could sum up Scream for Me in three words, what would they be?

Average but entertaining

Would you recommend Scream for Me to your friends? Why or why not?

No as while the story was interesting the constand use of SOB was very very annoying. There are far more things you can call somebody then son of a bitch and it was annoying that it semed to be everyone in the books favorite insult.I also didnt like the leading man, just a personal dislike nothing really glaringly obvious for me to dislike

What about Emily Beresford’s performance did you like?

Good performance

Another solid book

Another solid story. I enjoyed the characters and the plot. The romance was just right with some NSFW scenes, and the story was well written. This wasn't just a fluff piece, but had some real tension throughout. I would recommend the entire series. It is best read in order.

Potential ....

I think the story could be good with a few tweaks. It was somewhat predictable especially as the plot starts to go nowhere. Not to give too much away, but there comes a point when there are 3 suspects, and the story covers them being interviewed - my 5 year old could probably have told you ‘who done it’ after that chapter, but the main characters could not. The book was a bit frustrating at times before , but it was hard to keep going after that. I would recommend the author invest in a thesaurus as well - because ‘SOB’ is not the only way to refer to a ‘SOB’, though you would never know that from this book. By the last few chapters it felt like she was just repeating her self to meet a word quota ... maybe had she switched it up with a ‘son of a b*%ch’ that could have helped her out with meeting her goal.

So bad

It was so bad, I tried to force myself to finish. But, at 49 minutes left, I just couldn’t take it anymore.

Thriller with a slow burn

From NOLA504NERDS blog
I liked how it opened with the killers POV and then shifted to Detectives Kyle McKenzie and Cadence Hollow.  To me, it showed me that this book was going to have depth and thrilling intrigue.  Kyle’s sister disappeared 15 years ago and that still haunts him to this day.  Cadence and Kyle have both fantasized about each other since the beginning but kept it a secret so as not to jeopardize their partnership.  The intensity of The Night Hunter’s case and search for him soon brings them together romantically.  Kyle was a fantastic hero.  Very strong, protective, sexy, and endearing. Cadence is a strong hero herself who dials down her need for control to Kyle a chance.  Kyle and Cadence make great partners and great lovers.  Their chemistry is amazing.  I thoroughly enjoyed watching their passion grow into love.  And as far as being detectives, they have loyalty and trust in each other and can anticipate each other’s actions, making them successful partners.  I thought the dual POV’s as well as adding in the killers POV made this an even more enthralling story.  I love a good romance novel that is sweet with a HEA.  But I love other genres like suspense just as much.  I felt this book was a great combination of those 2 genres.  The slow build to a dramatic and exciting ending was perfect. Thank you, Cynthia Eden, for this wonderful book!
I read this book as a standalone, but it is the 3rd in the ‘For Me’ series.
Emily Beresford di an excellent job narrating the story. She really made the characters come to life!

Good book- Terrible narrator

I usually figure out the killer but was wrong about this one. Almost didn't finish... the narrator made listening difficult especially the Male voices.

Scream for me, literally.

Kyle is an angry man. To portray this through narration means a lot of yelling. The narrator, being good at what she does ended up yelling a lot. I stopped listening at chapter 12. I decided to read the book instead.

Sounds like a digitized narration

Story is predictable but okay. Author makes sure you know the names of each character as they are repeatedly used in almost every sentence. The narration is below parr.
