Publisher's Summary

"We call you Saint."

The name ignited a light in Carl's mind. Saint. He'd been covertly recruited for Black Ops and given his life to the most brutal kind of training any man or woman could endure. He was here because he belonged here. To the X Group.

He's an assassin. The most effective killer in the world. And yet...Carl Strople struggles to retain fleeting memories that betray an even more ominous reality. He's been told part of the truth - but not all of it.

Invasive techniques have stripped him of his identity and made him someone new - for this, he is grateful. But there are some things they can't take from him: the love of a woman, unbroken loyalties to his past, the need for survival.

From the deep woods of Hungary to the streets of New York, Saint takes you on a journey of betrayal in a world of government cover-ups, political intrigue, and one man's search for the truth. In the end, that truth will be his undoing.

"Kevin King's delivery of the ultimate showdown drives the plot as Carl's rapid-fire self-talk is delivered at a heart-pounding pace." (AudioFile)

One of the best ever

Amazing characters and a memorable story. A continuation of another story arch, so be sure to watch out for the other books. Awesome! I can't wait to read the others.

Great as always

Great as always. My only negative comment would be that it seemed like the volume levels changed a couple of times and about in the middle of the book we thought the narrator changed, which caused a bit of distraction.

Great audio book

Great narrator, does an amazing job with different voices. I haven't read anything that Ted Decker has written that I have not enjoyed !

Grave disappointment!

I am generally fascinated with Dekker, but this book was not only unbelieveable, but completely boring. I unfortunately wasted a credit. Bummer

Not like the other Books of History books....

I bought this after reading the Circle Series by Ted Dekker and starting the Lost Books, also by Ted Dekker. Although Saint is the best of the Saint, Sinner and Showdown trilogy (SSS trilogy, a phrase I made up), it was hard to get into. The storyline was a lot darker than Dekker's previous books. I only finished the SSS trilogy of books because I wanted to have a better grasp of the universe Dekker created, and for only that reason, I would recommend Saint as well as Showdown and Sinner.

Also, I would suggest starting with other Dekker books such as the first 3 books of the Circle Series - Black, Red and White -, before reading the SSS trilogy as you would gain a better understanding of Dekker and his style. I would also suggest reading Green after the SSS trilogy because some of the characters from this trilogy appear in Green.

Allegory or Military Sci-Fi?

Throughout, the story morphed between page-turner and yawn. Preachy at times, but committed to truth.

Too dark

This series is just too dark for me. But I've purchased all 3 books already, so hoping for a happy ending 😕

Good story, poor narration

The story is good, but Kevin King leaves something lacking. Also the firearms terminology was wrong and distracting.

Like my 16 year old son was reading this for the first time.

This is not a typical Decker novel. Too much unneeded monolog concerning politics. The narrative was weak and unconvincing

A Stroke of Genius!

If you have ever listened to or read one of Dekker's books, you must check this one out! From the beginning to the end it had my full attention. You always have to be ready for that twist in his books and this one delivered just as expected. If you are a Dekker fan, you will not be disappointed. It might get a bit imaginative at the end, but which one of his books doesn't. I've listened to it several times. Kevin King does a masterful job narrating as well. Delivers a five star rating on all counts in my book!
