Publisher's summary

On a cold, foggy night, two lives are cut short. The first: Philip Iverson, a billionaire philanthropist shot to death in a hotel parking structure. The second: Willie Temple, a homeless man stabbed through the heart on an abandoned San Francisco pier. The murders of such disparate men can’t possibly be connected…can they?

SFPD Lieutenant Jane Candiotti is still coming to terms with her promotion and her marriage to Detective Kenny Marks when the Iverson and Temple cases land in her lap. Under pressure from the media and the billionaire’s widow, the Powers That Be make it clear that the Iverson case should be Jane’s priority. But when Jane discovers a shocking link between the two victims, she can’t ignore there’s something big at play. And if she doesn’t uncover the truth in time, she could lose more than just her job…

Great Murder Mystery!

I just loved listening to this story as it was a classic in it's formulae. Little tweeks through the story make it a good read.
Jane is a great character and so are the others around her. The murderer is a surprise and that was a nice twist but on hindsight there had been clues!

Twists and turns

first let me say that I really enjoyed the story comma I couldn't quite put my finger on it till the end. But I could do without every one of these crime stories having so much sex in them we all know what it's like to have sex I don't think it needs to be explained so in-depth in a crime novel. very difficult to listen to these stories while I'm driving with my ten-year-old.

Never Give Up

Would you consider the audio edition of Sacrifice to be better than the print version?

Angela Dawe is great! I went looking for her reads and found this series. Now I have to say, Angela's male voices are good for my taste and it is the reason I buy her reads.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Sacrifice?

When Ken asks Jane if they still have jobs.

Which scene was your favorite?

I love Kenny's scarcastic humor. More of that in book 2 than this one. Book 2 blew me away. This book was good, but if you only try one buy #2 first to get a taste of the author. This book will not disappoint either.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yup, I should did listen to this story in one day! I am going to down load next book as soon as I press send on this review. These stories are that good. Book 1&4 to go

Interesting writer. Many plot twists. Narration well done. Awaiting next book to be narrated. Easy to follow thru the changes in plot

Great detective novel with bad narration!

I've reviewed the other San Francisco Detective Jane Candiotti novels by Clyde Phillips. Sacrifice is Book 3 of the 4 book series. It is the best novel in the series. Candiotti works to solve two seemingly unrelated murders, one of a billionaire and the other of a homeless man.

Angela Dawe narrates and her narration is horrid as always. As with all Dawe narrated books I recommend getting the Kindle ebook version.

Ahhhhh!

I'm sorry but I absolutely can not get pass the way she narrates. For heavens sake stop dragging your words. There's no way you actually speak like that. Geesh!
