Publisher's summary

When 54 million dollars of client funds vanishes in the dark of night, San Francisco stockbroker Travis Black finds he's been set up to take the fall in an international game of high stakes money laundering and deception.

Run for the Money takes Travis from San Francisco to the Caribbean in a race against time before the missing funds are scattered into offshore banks and shell corporations are designed to hide the money for good.

Enlisting the help of Chaz, a shadowy figure who knows his way through the web of criminal finance, Travis plunges head-on in a globe-spanning quest to beat the clock, avoid capture, and recover the money. Diamond dealers, femme fatales, and high speed chases are just a few of the obstacles Travis and his accomplice must overcome in this international spiral of intrigue and revenge.

Sting and Counter Sting

Travis is an ambitious young broker who just got conned big time by Reggie a hedge fund manager who set him up and absconded with Travis' client's investments.

Travis looks guilty and the cops are after him. A family friend whom Travis calls 'uncle Phil',
who is a retired broker refers Travis to his friend Chaz.

Chaz advises Travis not to turn himself into the authorities but rather to place himself into Chaz's hands to attempt to recover the monies before it becomes laundered and disappears forever,

The book was going along fine and was a really nice change from the usual violent murder mysteries and thrillers, Travis, his assistant Daphne and Chaz attempt to set up a counter sting operation.against Reggie and his co-harts. Then the story takes an unexpected turn which to me didn't really make sense in some ways. To explain why I felt this twist really didn't fit would be a spoiler. All I will say is that the twist involved unlikely allies.

Even though the twist didn't fit just quite right it still was fun and exciting and I did enjoy the twist even though I felt I didn't fit just right. A bit more of a transition explaining how the twist came about would of made it fit better.

The narration and performance was very good and overall the book was exciting and fun.

A really good book

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, I really enjoyed this book. It was easy to sit down and listen to this over the holiday and not get bored. I almost listened to it all in 1 sitting.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Uncle Phil, He had to ability to set the story in motion with his contacts.

Which scene was your favorite?

The ending scene where Beth was caught in her own greed by the fake story to exchange the money for diamonds.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

No, the only part of the book I found annoying was the chase scene. It was a little drawn out and got boring. It picked back up once they got all in the same boat and disappeared in the trees only to be helped by Chaz's friend.

Good Story with a lot of Action

Excellent story and characters - some facets of the plot and characters (e.g. FBI agents) are predictable to a point, but the plot is well laid out and moves at a good, interesting pace. Narration added to the story and was also excellent.
