Publisher's summary

It begins with greed. It ends with destruction. A military bid for control of the fourth richest oil fields on earth. A high-tech fortress, armed with cutting-edge rail guns and point defense weapons that give it mastery of the sea for more than 100 miles in all directions. An insanely clever commando assault on a snorkeling diesel submarine. At the epicenter of these colliding forces is former US Navy officer Jake Slate, scrabbling desperately for one more impossible military victory. And behind the scenes, international arms dealer Pierre Renard continues to pull the strings like the virtuoso puppet master he is. In a world of dwindling fuel sources, the global battle for oil is just getting started....

Thrilling

Rogue Fortress certainly holds up to Monteith's previous works bringing all sorts of adventure and intensity.

The writing and narration is good, yet a noticeable negative is the antagonist of this tale (similar to the last rogue novel) seems to simply vanish towards the end as if only an afterthought.

Despite that issue, the story progresses well and I look forward to the next novel of Rogue Submarine.
