can't wait for the newest one

Just can't wait for the next one. The newest one after Hannah is married and looking for a husband.

Best so far!

As we all know, Fluke has a nearly identical story pattern each book. THIS ONE though?? The slight changes made it MUCH more dynamic. I’m ready for the next one!

What a Combo . . . Cooking and Crime!

Although this is the last book in the series, it was the first of Joanne Fluke's books for me . . . and I enjoyed it so much! It was a change of pace . . . and a GOOD one . . . as another reviewer noted, it is family fare, which I appreciate . . . and I really like the inclusion of the recipes . . . the relationships between the people in the small town interested me . . . and I will go back and listen to others in the series. The murder mystery is good without being gory, and I need that every once in a while. Bottom line, this is a great women's book, great audio book for listening to with a friend, and I am glad I came across it.

Poor book, very glad I didn’t pay full price.

TECHNICAL: Well done technically. No music added, no audible mouth sounds, swallowing, digestive or breathing noises. Just the way I like my audiobooks.
PERFORMANCE: All aspects of the performance but the voices were good. Some of her characters are grating.
STORY: Sad how poorly written it is. Dialog was pitiful. A middle school student could have done better. It is full of errors. Example: One of the characters gives CPR to one who was found unconscious under water. When discussed later the cop character said there was no air found in the lungs during autopsy. It should have been no water was found in the lungs.

I love the characters even if these seem a little

it was entertaining but easy to figure out who and why early in the story.

YUM

What did you like best about this story?

It seemed like Hannah and the rest of the Lake Eden were a little off in the last few books, but all is well with this. The plot is good. The murder victim is one that I am glad won''t be coming back in later books. And, the recipes are ones that I really do want to try.

Any additional comments?

I'm for Norman. I want to see Hannah get together with Norman.

COOKIES AND CRIME

This is an "easy listen" cozy mystery. I'm not a baker, so the recipes don't interest me. However, the food described sounds very tasty. I find it's best to listen to books in this series on a full stomach so I can more easily resist the temptation to snack while I'm listening.
Early in the book I correctly guessed where the final confrontation between Hannah and the killer would take place. However, I didn't guess who the killer was until that final confrontation took place.
For me, much of the charm of these books comes from the characters and the setting.
This is a gently paced cozy. There is no explicit violence or language.
Narrator Suzanne Toren has a pleasant, clear speaking voice.

LOVE SUZANNE TOREN AS A NARRATOR/ GREAT BOOK

I love JoAnne Fluke. These books are like taking a trip back to my favorite small town USA
the characters are so awesome and she puts a new spin on it every time. I wish Hannah would go ahead a marry Norman though. I really hated Dr Bevn this book- great villain. It just was a great book and a must read in the series.
