Publisher's Summary

President Elect is book five in the best-selling Luke Stone thriller series, which begins with Any Means Necessary (book one).

When China bankrupts the US economy by calling in its debt and by shutting down the South China Sea, Americans are desperate for radical change. President Susan Hopkins, running for re-election, is floored as she watches the returns come in. Her rival, a madman senator from Alabama who ran on the promise to deport all Chinese and to nuke China's ships out of the South China Sea, has, inconceivably, won.

President Hopkins, though, knows she cannot yield power. To do so would be to spark World War Three.

Knowing the election was stolen, President Hopkins needs 48 hours to prove it, and to stop the escalating war games with the Chinese. With no one left to turn to, she summons Luke Stone, the former head of an elite FBI para-military team. The stakes could not be higher as she commands him to save America from its greatest threat: its own president-elect.

Yet as one shocking twist follows another, it may, even for Luke Stone, be too late.

A political thriller with non-stop action, dramatic international settings and heart-pounding suspense, President Elect is book five in the best-selling and critically-acclaimed Luke Stone series, an explosive new series that will leave you listening late into the night.

    "Fizzle"

Admittedly.....only made it two hours in.
The mass politician over simplifications might have been convenient to the author, but offensive and small brained to this reader.

This is where I leave Luke Stone.

"Leftist propanda masquereding a a novel. HORRIBLE"
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

I FORMERLY loved this author and this character. Now, the author took the dissention in the country, turned it around into Anti Trump propaganda. I listened as long as I could but the rants on racism, climate change nationalism are just too much and nauseating. I'm done with this author. Please take this poor excuse for a book back.

Has President Elect turned you off from other books in this genre?

No. Only this author. This is my favorite genre, but I'll never again listen to him.<br/>

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

keep his political views out of this and keep the previous type of story going. VERY DISAPPOINTED

    Any additional comments?

Anyone who likes vince flynn or other authors in this genre stay away from this book and this author

    "Will not read him again"
What would have made President Elect better?

Not going to finish this. I hate when an author attempts to insert their politics in a book. Won't read him anymore.

Would you ever listen to anything by Jack Mars again?

    No

    "Political Drivel"

Everybody who is not a liberal, is a racist, dishonest criminal, war monger. The story requires buying in to far left militant ideology to be plausible.

    "Mars political persuasion POOR FICTION"

Like the mainstream media who once produced reliable, unbiased, factual news allowing us to form our very own opinions using our very own minds but now are just pundits espousing their personal political views and those of their masters like snake oil infomercials so goes Jack Mars. A shame. The media could be professional, unbiased, and respected but have chosen psychological manipulation as their unwanted trade. Mars could continue to be a great fiction writer but has caved to writing thinly veiled political treatise. He's set to lose a large percentage of his readers because he couldn't just write a non-fiction opinion book instead and call it what it is.

    "Dumbest ending ever!"
What did you like best about President Elect? What did you like least?

Loyalty of Luke's team members from the past

What was most disappointing about Jack Mars’s story?

The ending was not barely believable. I think Jack got bored with this one and wanted to move on to another project. I've enjoyed his other books.

What about K.C. Kelly’s performance did you like?

Nice voice, good cadence, easy for an old guy like me to understand.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

Only if I got a note saying the end had been changed.

    "Great story, not great narration"

I have thoroughly enjoyed the Luke Stone series. And to be honest, the narrator isn't bad...except that this is a story about a potential nuclear war. The minimum requirement for a narrator of such a story should be the ability to pronounce "nuclear." In a different story, this would be a not, but in this case, the word appears at least 100 times. It's hard for the reader to conceive that every character - the President, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs and others - could not know the correct pronunciation of this key word. I love Audible, but this is an egregious mistake that should have been caught.

    "Short and Sweet"

Seemed vety short, like a transition piece. Surprised by quick Becca exit and I appreciate it. I liked the Trump/Gore situation and personality similarities. The combination made it fresh and the insanity of the scenario allowed for the ability to completely disregard the outcome. The LS and SH relationship is unique but surprisingly not unexpected or unwanted. Nice setup/catchup story.
