Would you listen to Postcards from the Dead again? Why?

Yes! Just a good book! Nothing to have to think about, no foul language, just good, clean fun!

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Not really on the edge of my seat, but I definitely wanted to finish it!

Have you listened to any of Danielle Ferland’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes. She is great! I smile when I hear a "regional" pronunciation gone wrong, but that's just my southern way.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

The reader is awful. She has no inflection in her voice. She is dry.. it's all monotone to me. I tried to finish the book but it was no use, i had to stop listening to it. Excedrin didn't fix the headache and Calgon went with out me.

Has Postcards from the Dead turned you off from other books in this genre?

No.. but the reader did.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Danielle Ferland?

I would have cast someone who was more up beat and someone who has a pleasant voice. Someone who could read the high's and low's of story to bring you into it...

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

The book story line was ok... I just couldn't finish it.

Don;t use that reader anymore... until she has reading lessons.

Fun Afternoon Listen

What made the experience of listening to Postcards from the Dead the most enjoyable?

It was an entertaining book to listen to that didn't require me to follow the plot closely i.e. I could listen to the book on my I pod while running errands and cleaning house.I wouldn't have picked Laura Childs scrap booking series if I didn't like listening to the books.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Didn't have a favorite character.

What about Danielle Ferland’s performance did you like?

She was the perfect person to read the book.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Laura Childs needs to learn a few key curse words to replace her all encompassing word "poop" which doesn't qualify as a curse word in my opinion. That's what you say in front of a kid instead of a real curse word.First time I heard it used in one her books, that made me laugh.

This book is definitely a letdown to the series.

The atmosphere of New Orleans, Marti Gras, food, wine, and parties made this book entertaining but not a great cozy mystery. I missed the time spent at the scrapbooking store which usually involves Carmela, Ava, Gabby, and the other scrappers discussing the murders/crimes. There was very little of that in this book. The scenes that did take place in the scrapbook store were lacking these elements. This cozy mystery, after all, is a part of a “scrapbook series”. I also didn't care for the whole postcard premise or the reasoning behind it. This book is definitely a letdown to the series.
