Publisher's summary

Intelligence officer Alex Hawke takes on power-hungry Russian president Vladimir Putin, who is wielding a terrifying new weapon, in the latest adrenaline-fueled thriller in Ted Bell's New York Times best-selling series.

In corrupt Russia, an erratic Vladimir Putin is determined to forge his country into a formidable superpower once again. He intends to redraw the map of Europe and will go to impossible extremes to realize his fantasies - including shooting down a civilian airliner packed with tourists bound for China. Kremlin scientists have developed a radical new weapon that could forever alter modern warfare. NATO, locked in a tense standoff over Ukraine, Poland, and Estonia, knows Putin will not hesitate to use it. But there is one man who can bring the world back from the brink: Britain's foremost intelligence asset, Lord Alexander Hawke.

The intrepid MI6 officer's latest challenge begins in the Gulf of Aden and soon has him searching for the link to a series of bizarre assassinations. Spies are dying all over the world - from London, Washington, DC, and Maine to Moscow and even the glittering Cote d'Azur. In the murky world of counterterrorism and high-stakes intrigue, the odds have never been higher. Once again, Alex Hawke must save the world...one bullet at a time.

Love this series

Alex Hawke and his friends are fun to be around and this series is really enjoyable. Stockely Jones and his sayings remain a favourite of mine and John Shea is excellent!

Most Exciting Ever!

Patriot is set on the world stage and moves from continent to continent instantaneously. The characters are strong and I found myself wishing they were actual professionals working for the USA and England. Plots and subplots flow and the conclusion is one of the most in depth character description I have ever read . The current American Administration needs to read this book and learn.

I enjoyed the story line and the suspense was intriguing. I would like to read more of his books.

Disappointing

I read the previous books in the Alex Hawke series & lived them. Since I have been listening to audible books, I have found many well written & well narrated books. I was excited to listen to Patriot but was sorely disappointed that the book is not very well written - I was shocked & almost stopped listening after the first few chapters. It's also poorly narrated with little range in voice or accents. Ugh. Bought the next in the series & am tempted to ask audible for a refund.

Not one of the better books in the series.

Struggled to finish - it is plagued with cheesy remarks and a lacklustre, dry storyline

Spot on story telling

What Stuart Woods does to stroke the over inflated ego of the liberal leftists of America's Democratic party, Ted bell doea 10x greater and with more flair an entertainment with this novel.

excellent

great story as usual. although I did feel that "creative liscense " was carried a bit strong. As in sneaking into and out of Siberia was just too easy. And another small item, would be how would anyone know that Brock Kelly took the Vodka. Much less know where, and when to steal it. But a good story nonetheless. As far as the narrator, great job on most characters, but he absolutely pinned down Stokely Jones. He was spot on, with projecting his character.
