Publisher's summary

Jolie Goodman never yearned for a life in Atlanta's fast lane. All she wants is a career in real estate, and she's willing to sell shoes at Neiman Marcus over the holidays to make ends meet. But recently, her boyfriend vanished - with her car - and her search for answers leads her to some very exclusive circles. Jolie hooks up with a pair of retail fashionistas who have made crashing society bashes an art form, and soon finds herself rubbing shoulders with the rich and famous...and rubbing other body parts with one of Atlanta's most eligible bachelors!

But Jolie can't shake the feeling that she's being pursued...right into a dangerous clique where friends and enemies look the same, and flirtation is the preferred party favor. Jolie and her gal pals become the toast of the town ... until a body turns up at a sexy soiree the women have crashed. The fun and games come to a dead end when the "crashers" are fingered for the murder.

The women have to pull all the tricks out of their designer bags to try to trap a stalker before Jolie, once the life of the party, becomes the death of the party.

Fun and entertaining

I'm not usually a fan of romantic mysteries, especially with a Cinderella vibe. However, this book was very entertaining. Jolie, a sales clerk at Neiman Marcus, begins crashing parties with friends in order to discover who killed her boyfriend. Along the way she finds herself implicated in the crime. I found myself laughing aloud and cringing at some of the situations Jolie faced. The writing is good and the mystery is well-developed. The characters are really interesting. The narrator does a very good job with the voices and accents. This is a definite must read for cozy mystery lovers.

Good read.

First time listening to a book. The story was intriguing and filled in a few areas of the Body Movers series. Keep the stories coming.

Not Really A Romance

This way-too-long story was so uninteresting that the only character's name I could recall by the end was the dead guy. The female lead was extremely pathetic, her friends sadly neurotic, and the male lead was totally lifeless. It was more of a how-to guide if you wanted to rip off your retail employer or sneak in to a fund raiser and reap all the benefits without donating to the cause--which frankly would make a person as extremely pathetic as the heroine. Narrator was a little bland.

Good Plot

The book has a good story plot with lots of turns and twists , but an unrealistic romance ending.

Really enjoyable listen

I love lots of samantha bond’s work, but they usually end a bit abrupt for me since I like to hear about the happily ever after. This book was great throughout and it did give a little extra with the epilogue, so that is a definite plus! Overall, it was an easy listen with not too much angst and a mystery that kept me truly interested, plus I loved the main characters!

2 hours left of book - it's agony

Stilted narrator, annoying main character - mousey, helpless, idiot. But, I've paid for this book so I'm going to finish it but it's difficult.

Not my favorite

I typically like her books. I struggled to get through this whole book. But I am not a quitter...so I stuck with it. I think overall the story was ok and what I decided I didn’t like was the narrator. It sounded more to be like she was reading recipe cards out loud. I couldn’t tell if I part was humorous or sad because the inflection of the narrator’s didn’t change. I might listen to another Stephanie Bond if it has a different narrator.

I do a safe to use the same narrator as the body mover books for carlotta's voice at least but this was really enjoyable
