Publisher's summary

From thriller and suspense master Brett Battles comes Pale Horse, the third book in the Project Eden thriller series.

And I looked, and behold a pale horse;and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. -Revelations 6:8

A simple push of a button and the world will never be the same.

Martina Gable returns home from college to spend Christmas break with her family, but the relaxing vacation she expects is not even close to what she'll get. Sanjay, a young man in Mumbai who knows more than he should about Project Eden’s plan, will do whatever he can to keep Kusum, the girl he loves, alive and safe.

A boy named Brandon Ash runs for his life in the hills of Montana, wanting only to see his family again.

But first there is Daniel, the boy’s father, who watches Olivia Silva’s finger hover over the enter key that will decide the fate of humanity. Do you think you’re safe?

Pale Horse is part of the Project Eden continuing sage, which is best read after completing volumes 1 and 2 (Sick and Exit 9))

Critic reviews

Sick didn’t just hook me. It hit me with a devastating uppercut on every primal level - as a parent, a father, and a human being.” (Blake Crouch, author of Run)
“…a gem of an outbreak story that unfolds like a thriller movie and never lets up, all the way to the last page. Absolutely my favorite kind of story!” (John Maberry, New York Times bestselling author)
“…not only grabs you by the throat, but by the heart and gut as well, and by the time you finish you feel as if you've just taken a runaway train through dangerous territory. Buy these books now. You won't regret it.” (Robert Browne, best selling author of Trial Junkies)

Is this a comic book series?

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

not really, I liked his other series but this one is in 6 books + and could be done in 2-3.

Has Pale Horse turned you off from other books in this genre?

Not in this Genre but this series by this author.

He leaves you hanging but just keep listening!

Just keep listening the story develops but yes the end is basically mid sentence. I got the "this has been an audible presentation" statement and let out a shrill "what??" I cant wait to listen to the next one!

Need the next or rest in series to finish story

Same quality of everything as before. Annoying that there are so many books to purchase. The story is pretty good. The characters still haven't been fleshed out. They are still surface descriptions that are inter-related by location. Love the story but it is expensive and frustrating.

Unique Apocalyptic Yarn

One of my guilty pleasures. It is not entirely original, but it does have many interesting ideas and fully realized characters. There is plenty of action and character development. The only drawback is the cliffhanger endings and short run times. I usually have a hard time recommending books with these attributes, but if you check out the other reviews and audible samples, then you should be able to make an informed decision.

The narration is good, with some improvement needed on female voices.

Best to binge on all 7 books at once

Yes - ends on a cliffhanger. But exceptional storytelling throughout! If you love end-of-the-world, plague, conspiracy, disaster, good-vs-evil stories and you want a long, multi-faceted, character-filled thrillers - get all 7 books and have a ball!

Fantastic narration. MacLeod Andrews is exceptional with accents - esp. Sanjay and the India plot-line. Great pacing by Brett Battles. I listened to all of Pale Horse in a single day, getting very little else done and staying up until the wee-hours of the am to finish it. Started Ashes (Book 4) the following morning.

Pale Horse is Project Eden Book 3

Project Eden is a continuing series that can be thought of as a single 60 hour book, so each of the first 6 books end with a lot of uncertainty and unresolved issues. The suspense builds up to a point that very few action thrillers can match. Along with the Jonathan Quinn series Project Eden establishes Brett Battles as one of the best thriller writers ever. Sick is the first book in the series.

McLeod Andrews narrates the Project Eden series and he does his usual great job.
