Publisher's summary

Breaking up is hard to do, as Kathleen Turner discovers. After a falling-out with her ex, high-powered attorney Blane Kirk, she’s moving on the best she can. Unfortunately, someone from her past is set on revenge and nothing short of killing Kathleen will stop them. Keeping his brother’s ex-girlfriend alive isn’t something new to assassin-for-hire Kade Dennon, but this time can he protect her from himself? She’s a woman he can’t convince himself to walk away from, no matter what it costs him. Regret is a constant companion for Blane as he realizes the truth behind the lies he’s been told. Can love heal the past, or can some mistakes not be undone? Murder reunites Blane, Kade, and Kathleen as the police put Blane in their crosshairs. Blane may lose everything unless he and Kade can find the real murderer before it’s too late. But if they can’t set aside their love for the same woman and work together, it will tear them apart. In Out of Turn, Kathleen is caught between two warring brothers, and the consequences may be fatal.

Love this series

Oh...Wow...just...wow! I enjoyed all the books in this series so far, but this one was an emotional roller-coaster!! It picks up months after the end of the last book, which was devastating in so many ways! I should have know to keep the box of tissues with me!!!

Kathleen in dealing with the break-up with Blane, her mixed feelings for Kade and some serious PTSD. Even though there is a great deal of angst in the beginning, which is understandable, she still has that core of strength. She is not afraid to take matters into her own hands and stand up for herself. I loved her growth in this book, she is still a touch naive but now I find it endearing. She really is growing as a character and I love where she is headed.

Blane finally pulled his head out of his rectum and sees the truth, but now he is stuck. I have never felt he was the right choice for her, he is rather cold even when he is being loving. By the end of the book he made some steps toward growth as well. And finally has a great big spotlight placed on the whole kidnapping from the last book.

As always I love Kade, while he is dark and brooding her shows with his actions how much he cares for Kathleen. He does things that are about her, like the locket which was a perfect gift. And he makes her, and us, laugh...even in tense situations.

There is a lot of story going on this book. I girl gets swept into things quickly and once the action starts, hold on to your hats!! Great pacing makes this book fly. I really like that it isn't just one plot, there are usually a few sub-plots tied in to make things pop. These are seriously addictive!

I still wish we could have a mixed narrative all the time, I desperately want to know what the guys are thinking. Especially when they do the shared stare/looks. Unfortunately, we are only treated to Kathleen's POV for almost the entire book. There is a tiny peak into Blane at the very end, but not as much as I would like.

The steam factor, is rather yummy, for a mainstream Romantic Suspense, things get pretty spicy! What happens in Vegas and all that. Oh, and there is a delightful picnic! I am still holding onto the dream that this jumps track and turns into a menage, there was a closet scene that gives me hope.

I listened to the audiobook read by the fabulous Angela Dawe. She has a real way of making Kathleen come to life, not to whiny but instilled with a sense of youth. Her males voices have just the right deep timber. Oh la, Kane sounds delicious! She does a wonderful job of keeping each voice distinct and consistent. She has a terrific pace that makes the story move along quickly. She has a gift for adding energy into the narration.

I am so very hooked on this series, I am like a junkie needing my next fix, sadly I have to wait until May!! Fingers crossed that things get smexy and she doesn't have to choose!

"I Got $20 On The Redhead"

Where does Out of Turn rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Ok, you must like a series as the author keeps you tied to her books with twists and turns with our two heroes. I started with this book as I wanted Cades' story. I loved it, but I do not care for the heroine, Kat. She is strong since she was a cops' daughter, but since the author wants a series she makes our heroine have weak emotions. I purchased #4 & 5 as they seem to be Cade stories. He's as sexy as they get!

What was one of the most memorable moments of Out of Turn?

The times when Cade waxes poetic to Kat. I love Cades' character as he is the quintessential smart mouth and bad boy. You will get a laugh when all three go exploring in shoe boxes.

What does Angela Dawe bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

A.D. has a great male voice I like. I went looking for her reads and found this series.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yup, I sure did listen in one day and into the night. On to book #5. If I like the book, I may buy the beginning books. I have to read the reviews first as one reviewer stated heroine is a bit weak. Each story does set up the next book so be warned if you do not like series. These are not stand alone listens. I am not compelled to listen to a series from book 1. Many authors get so much better later on in a series with their dialogue.

Any additional comments?

JD Robbs' Naked in Death is an exception. Book 1 is still the best.

Go team Kade!!!

If you could sum up Out of Turn in three words, what would they be?

I need way more than three words to sum up Out of Turn. But if I had to try I guess it would be 'Love Them Both'. Kathleen tries so hard to not come between Blane and Kade but in the end she hurts both herself and the men who mean so much to her.

What did you like best about this story?

This story was all action. At times I wondered how Kathleen would survive. As in the other books in this series Blane was his usual pompous, arrogant, self-centred self. Still blind to the dubious intentions of some of those around him. Kane on the other hand, though still full of self-doubt was more willing to show his soft and vulnerable side.

Have you listened to any of Angela Dawe’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have listened to many of Angela Dawe's performances and I think this series is one of my favourites. The voice of Kathleen Turner suits the character so well - the presentation is almost clinical. It is like 'well this is me and my life - I may not be much but I like who I am'. I guess if I have any negative comment if would be that Blane always sounds like he has a sore throat - but then I guess that's how I pick his voice.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I got so frustrated with Kathleen with her blind faith in Blane. Thank goodness she recognised her real feelings for Kane by the end of the book - saved me throwing something!

Any additional comments?

I am really enjoying this series. I see the next instalment won't be available until May 2014. Hopefully Tiffany Snow will give Kathleen a Happy Ever After - even if it is one that involves one women and the two men she loves!

Drug on somewhat

Kathleen became a bit of a myrtr in this book. I got s little tired of her whoa is me happenings. You just knew what was going to happen to her and the suspense was pretty predictable. But for book 4 it was a good listen.

Even Hotter!!

Okay so, Blaine shows his butt and breaks Kathleen's heart. Kade disappears she's alone and devestated. Then 3 months later Kade returns, Kathleen is attacked and they run off to Vegas on a case where things get pretty hot. Meanwhile back in Indi, Candi, Blaine's ex ends up dead, Blaine's accused of the murder, Kade can't remember what happened in Vegas but Kathleen can't forget. Emotions are crazy! Kade and Blaine alternated between working together and wanting to kill each other, while someone is actively trying to kill Kathleen. This book is a world wind page-turner with a stunning ending that isn't the last of it yet. Love this author, Love these books!

Love this emotional roller-coaster

I had to get this book and the next after finishing the last book.

The narrator is great for suspense type books.

Now onto the next book...
