What a fun listen! I knew Hiatt's other work and this was out of the normal realm for her. But I'd love it if she did more. The main character is a mid-life hero. She has some hassles that sound pretty familiar to a lot of women I know. She becomes more powerful as the story goes along so you really start pulling for her. And what happens - good and bad seem, you know, possible. The reader is really good - I really felt like I was listening to the real woman.
This is a great beach listen or summer story. Lots of fun.

I enjoyed this authors Historical Romances and decided to try this book out as well. I'm so glad I ventured into a different genre with her. I was hooked in the first chapter and glued to every word until the end!

The writing quality is phenomenal and the storyline keeps you guessing at each turn. I was expecting a completely different book when I started the first page and was pleasantly surprised at the depth and emotion rolling out of each chapter. This is a full length tale, no cliffhanger at the end, but plenty of Easter eggs within. If you haven't read this yet, stop reading reviews and buy the book already!
Kelley Haden gives a epic performance giving the novel depth and character that is uncompromising.. !
Wynne ends up on holiday alone in Aruba after divorcing her cheating husband and forgetting to cancel the trip. She's determined to try new things and live up to the t-shirt slogan 'No Fear' so she takes scuba diving lessons. While learning to dive she finds an engagement ring which turns out to be an important clue in a recent murder investigation.
The narrator's voice is well suited to the main character but she also does a good job of the many other characters and accents in the book.
I so enjoyed this book! The author did a fantastic job weaving a story of a middle aged, newly divorced woman who learns to face her fears and become independent. The narrator was perfect for this book with her wonderful array of distinguished characters. She added the right emotions in every aspect. I selected this book based on the narrator and discovered a great author in the process. I will definitely listen to more books by both in the future. I requested this review copy audiobook and have voluntarily written this review. The imagery in this book was so good with the choppy seas, the desert landscape of Aruba, the diving experiences, etc. Having followed the story of the disappearance of Natalie Holloway, I had a great mental image of the island. The mystery in this book was so well done too! I highly recommend this book.
I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the narrator and found it very entertaining. Newly divorced, Wynne heads off for the holiday she booked for her 25th wedding anniversary that's not going to happen. She decides to take diving lessons, and it changes her life. This is a fast paced and suspenseful tale with interesting characters. Every time I thought I had it figured out, the facts changed. The ending made me smile.
