Publisher's summary

Kyle Fasano has it all: a loving wife, two children, and a house on the hill. Still, for one night it's not enough. Risking everything, he has a fling with a woman from the office. He knows better, but she offers a simple temptation.

Napoleon Villa has very little: no real family, no real home. A veteran detective for the LAPD, he is a gray wolf in an ever-darkening world. When the call comes in that a young woman has plummeted to her death at the Los Angeles Hilton, it seems like just another case.

Both men are running from something, and both are on a collision course. Fleeing his affair at the Hilton, Kyle runs into a stranger dressed in gray and possessed of heavenly powers. He tells Kyle something he never expected to hear: to save his soul, Kyle must prevent his first love - whom he hasn't seen in over 20 years - from making the same mistake he has. For Napoleon, it all comes down to a case long closed but forever open in his mind: that of a child murderer he failed to stop in time.

Now, pursued by a detective with nothing to lose, Kyle Fasano, with everything to lose, is about to learn that with every choice there are consequences. And sometimes there can be hell to pay - literally.

justice

If you're someone who has ever been cheated on and approach this story with a touch of humor, you'll find it every bit as enjoyable as I did.

sci fi

this book is categorized as thriller/mystery.
I guess it is but it's also has characters that are not "real".. so the book is unbelievable in the sense that it could not possible happen in the "real" world.. it has shape changers, and demons and angels...
I did listen to the entire book to see if there was some sort of twist at the end to merit the "un-real"
part of it.
Although I did almost shut it down twice, because I like a book that in theory could happen.
maybe If one believed in demons and such. it would be a better read. it was more like a Stephen King novel in my opinion.
it was an OK read but not quite what I was expecting and not really what I wanted to read right now.

Couldn’t get past the narrator

This book had so much potential but the narrator really turned me off to the book. I couldn’t listen long I was so annoyed. The book would be way better in print.

A. M. A. Z. I. N. G ! What a surprise!!

I doubted I was going to like this but WOW. So good! At first I didn't care for the narrator, but it fits perfectly! I could picture every character and I felt every emotion! Perfect visual of Good vs evil! Not a hokey religious book, but very deep and suspenseful! NOTE: it's not a standalone! I'm downloading book 2 as we speak and can't wait to start listening to find out what happens now!

Twists and turns with a surprising inevitability.

Leaves you wondering if there is a sequel. I suppose that is what good and evil is even though spiritually, you know the ending.
