Publisher's summary

Two people have died in macabre accidents, one struck by lightning on Tahoe's highest mountain and one mowed down by a hit-and-run driver. In the middle of a controversial procedure to exhume one of the bodies, powerful businessman Quentin de Beers is killed. Charged with murder, Quentin's angry grandson won't talk, even to Nina Reilly, his defense attorney.

To save her client, Nina must expose the truth about his troubled family and untangle the hidden connections that link all three deaths. As the trial draws to an end, both the D. A. and Nina will make a harrowing decision to obstruct justice in order to prevent a terrible injustice.

Inexpensive, yet very good audio

This was an inexpensive audio so I was reluctant to purchase it. I was pleasantly surprised. The plot is interesting with several subplots (or what I call perpendicular plots) which add to the overall interest of the story. Very good character development, more than adequate setting description and a very good reader makes this audio better than most. Although I prefer darker mysteries , this one, though a little on the light side, is worth a listen.

Great story but mispronunciation of Tahoe landmark

I am a fan of the author's! I read this book before I listened to it on audible. As a longtime local to the South shore of Lake Tahoe I was very disappointed with the mispronunciation of Mt. Tallac ( Ta-lack), not (tallock) and our local grocery store "Raley's" (ray_lees), not (rah-lees). Thus it was nails on the chalkboard many times. Since the authors are local to Lake Tahoe, you would think that they would have corrected this.
