Publisher's summary

Elizabeth Peters has attracted a huge following of listeners with her ability to deliver snappy stories, witty dialogue, and appealing characters. In Naked Once More, Peters creates a heroine you won't soon forget, the flamboyant Jacqueline Kirby, popular author and outspoken ex-librarian.

A lovely, but reclusive, young writer has mysteriously died, leaving the public hungry for a sequel to her enigmatic, best-selling novel. After intense competition, Jacqueline is chosen to write the sequel. But as Jacqueline begins her manuscript, she receives ominous signs that she may be heading for the same fate. Neither chocolate nor scotch can dispel her fears. Soon she is desperately trying to untangle two perilous plots: one in the sequel, and one in her own idiosyncratic life.

Naked Once More is Elizabeth Peters at her best, especially when narrated by her favorite actor, Barbara Rosenblat. Between the two of them, they'll keep your ears ringing with suspense and humor.

This is the version

This is the version to purchase. The wonderful narration of Barbara Rosenblat does justice to Elizabeth Peters story. And it is a grand story. Well drawn characters. A look at the world of publishing. A lovely convoluted series of puzzles.

My favorite Peters/Michaels book

I have read all of the Peters and Barbara Michaels novels and this is my favorite. Witty, fun, and well-paced. If you have any experience in the publishing industry, consider this a must read. I have listened to the version done by Grace Conlin, and this is superior.

A writer's farce

I thoroughly enjoyed this book! It was a lighthearted and interesting view into a writer's psyche,

Narrator + Author = Great Listen

Elizabeth Peters writes delightful, funny mystery stories. Naked Once More is solid Peters and quite enjoyable. But what makes it a great listen is the wonderful talent of Barbara Rosenblat. She is one of the top narrators out there, and what a difference she makes!

The other narration option is not nearly as good as this one. Even if you've listened to the rest of the Kirby series with the other narrator -- by all means switch to Rosenblat for this one! I can't recommend Barbara Rosenblat enough.

Barbara Rosenblatt is the reason to listen to this story

The narrator of this story kept me interested. I chose this story because Barbara read the Erma Bombeck books and she did not disappoint.

What a Mystery

Elizabeth Peters is an acclaimed author, and this book is about writers. No one could have written it better. I loved the Jacqueline character. Will she show up in future books? Could it be that Elizabeth share some of Jacqueline’s characteristics?

Easy listening story. Good characters and a few unexpected twists. Kept me listening to the end and then wishing there was a little more.

If you’re a frustrated writer...

You’ll have a great time listening to Naked Once More. This was probably my 20th reading, and while it’s dated in the tech, the humor still works. And what Peters says about the demands of family... my late husband never got the point, even after he read it. LOL

One of my favorites

I listen to this book every year and enjoy it even though I have it memorized. Cozy and fun. The narration is excellent.
