    "A little long but entertaining."
Where does Naked Heat rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

    Up near the top.

What did you like best about this story?

Envisioning the characters as those on the show "Castle".

What about Johnny Heller’s performance did you like?

Very clear and pleasant to listen to. He portrayed each "voice" so that it was obvious as to who was "speaking".

    Any additional comments?

The book itself was a bit lengthy but I WAS entertained throughout it all.

    "Fun read, good story line."
What made the experience of listening to Naked Heat the most enjoyable?

I enjoy expanding on the TV seriew with these additional books. The characters have more depth, even though they are the fictional characters created by Richard Castle, who is a fictional character in the TV series.

"The male in this story makes me puke!"
What would have made Naked Heat better?

If you had let the Rook character out of these books the stories would be just fine. What an arrogant A...hole. No woman would really let this jerk touch her..... I suppose because this is a male author he can make the woman do anything.......but nothing about this author's book is realistic.

Would you be willing to try another book from Richard Castle? Why or why not?

    No

Would you be willing to try another one of Johnny Heller’s performances?

    Maybe

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Naked Heat?

All those with Rook in them

"Good romping fun with fun characters"
What did you love best about Naked Heat?

The writing is intelligent, witty and captures a sense of police culture which feels real to me. The dynamics between Rook and Heat are entertaining, and Roach are cool.
Heller is a great reader, giving real character to the voices.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

It engages me constantly enjoying what's happening and wondering what's going to happen next.

    Any additional comments?

I'm going to listen to the whole series for sure.

    "Not for me"
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

No, I made myself finish it since it was my first for this series and by this author. I tell people I am addicted to audio books and it is often hard for me to stop listening when I get to work and put it away...not this one. Maybe that's good.

Would you recommend Naked Heat to your friends? Why or why not?

    No.

    Any additional comments?

I was very disappointed as I'm looking for a new series to dig my teeth (or ears) into.

    "Too predictable!"
Would you try another book from Richard Castle and/or Johnny Heller?

No, not that their stories aren't good but it's very predictable, especially when compared to the series, which is saying a lot.

Would you ever listen to anything by Richard Castle again?

    No.

What about Johnny Heller’s performance did you like?

Yes, he makes you feel the characters, just not enough story to give feeling to.

Do you think Naked Heat needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

No, what's left to find out?

"If You Like Castle, You'll Enjoy The Heat Books"
What made the experience of listening to Naked Heat the most enjoyable?

There are events told from Castle's point of view that, if you watch the show, you'd be able to tell were told from a biased point of view, and Kate's interpretation would be very different.

What other book might you compare Naked Heat to and why?

They remind me a little bit of some of the early Lawrence Block books, but funny.

Have you listened to any of Johnny Heller’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes. He does a good job of talking like Nation Fillion.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It made me laugh out loud a few times.

    "Better than Castle"

Maybe it's because writing is better than TV. Maybe it's because the relationship between the main characters is more complete. Maybe it's because the moments of suspense seem less artificial. I just enjoyed this book.

Understand, this is not great literature, it's just a fun, good read. Also, I don't need to try and figure out what the British slang is or try and understand the Scots accent.

I like the $7.95 sales because it gives me an opportunity to try a book for which I might not otherwise risk the credit.
I look forward to the possibility mentioned in the recent Audible survey to preview books by first chapters...or return them if unsatisfactory. I would never have purchased this book had that opportunity been available.
