Publisher's summary

School psychologist Skye Denison has been waiting forever for her happily-ever-after with police chief Wally Boyd. But her bliss threatens to unravel on the very first day of their luxurious honeymoon cruise, when Skye becomes convinced that she has glimpsed her mother on board! Surely even momzilla May wouldn't have manipulated Wally into booking the same trip that her knitting group is taking...or would she?

May's possible presence can't cool Skye and Wally's ardor on their personal Love Boat, but discovering knitting expert Guinevere Stallings as she lies dying from a stab wound leaves them untangling the clues of yet another murder investigation rather than getting tangled in the sheets. Since Skye found the body, she's considered a top suspect, but she's far from the only one. Guinevere's imperious ways needled nearly everyone, and she left an impressive number of enemies. It's up to the crafty newlyweds to figure out which of the wronged parties was angry enough to cast Guinevere off...permanently.

Wonderful!

Would you listen to Murder of a Needled Knitter again? Why?

I love the Scumble River series and occasionally start at the beginning and re listen to each story, enjoying the evolution of the lives and relationships of its colorful characters.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

The story kept me anxious, wanting Skye and Wally 'a honeymoon to go well and not be marred by family or dead bodies

Have you listened to any of Christine Leto’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Christine Leto always does a great job of performing each book rather than just reading it aloud. I can almost forget that only one person is speaking since she gives each character their own unique voice.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I listened to this book all the way through without stopping!

Any additional comments?

Denise Swanson is one of my favorite cozy book authors. I'll always stop everything to read her latest titles.

Yay Denise Swanson. Another amazing book!

Loved this book! Sky and Wally and the crew solve a mystery on the cruise ship. Sky’s mother is on the ship with her knitting group. Her Dad is also there with her mother. They join up with sky’s friend and her husband. They group together and solve the murder of the leader of the knitting group! This book has murder, thefts, assaults and a whole bunch of fun, with a few crazy, laugh out loud scenarios! Christine Leto is as usual a great narrator! Worth the read!

Enjoyable Cozy Mystery!

I can’t imagine anything worse than going on your honeymoon with your MOTHER! Okay maybe going on your honey with a murderer on the same cruise ship! Well in Skye Denison-Boyd’s latest adventure she has both on her honeymoon. Her mother is on the same cruise ship as Skye and Wally and there is also a murderer on board.

I liked Denise Swanson’s new book for a number of reasons. Firstly I love Scumble River and Skye and Wally. I’ve been reading these books for a long time and I’m glad to see Skye getting her happy ever after with Wally. Even if there honeymoon did include her mom, Mae. There is more interactions with Skye, Wally and her parents, Mae and Jed, then I’ve ever seen before. This of course happens when you’re stuck on a ship together. I love how Wally stands up for Skye, and we all know Mae is the kind of woman that it can be hard to get a word in!!

I’ve also wanted to take a crochet cruise. It looks so relaxing to crochet on the water and visit new places. Mae and Jed are part of a knitting cruise group and it is anything but relaxing, especially with one of their own meeting her death. It turns out not all knitters are the peaceful, grandmotherly type!

Murder of a Needled Knitter was a great adventure on the seas, and I liked watching Skye and Wally working together to solve the mystery! It was a tangled web and it left me guessing right until the end.

I chose to listen to Murder of a Needled Knitter in audiobook format. It was my first time listening to Christine Leto narrate and it was a really enjoyable experience. I definitely will pick up future books in this series on audio. I love being able to knit and crochet while I listen, and Christine has a great voice to tell the ups and downs of a cozy mystery.

Murder of a Needled Knitter was a great listen and I can’t wait to find out what is in store for Skye and Wally in their married life, when they return to Scumble River.

Great Series

Recently I began with book 1 in the series and just finished book 15 as well as the new addition. This is a terrific series, clean, friendly, and I loved the characters. Each character is unique and fun to follow. You can't go wrong reading or listening to the whole series.

Skye and Wally do it again

If you could sum up Murder of a Needled Knitter in three words, what would they be?

I have enjoyed all the stories and I love how the story this time was outside there home. I have to say it was nice to see Skye's Mom put in her place by Wally. I think she is to hard on Skye. I think the getting to see Skye and Wally interact more in the story was nice. The mystery was good and keep me guessing but I really look forward to seeing what happens when they get back home.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Yes but not as much as enjoying watching the couples become closer friends. I think it was nice to see Owen get more involved and also the interaction of Jed her Dad input. Wally was so laid back that it was nice to see him have faith in the women.

What does Christine Leto bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

She did a great job.

Any additional comments?

I really look forward to the next one. I enjoy these books they nice and cozy I love how all the members of the story are evolving and I hope to see more and even new ones added to them.

Oops She Did It Again!

Skye and Wally finally get to go on their honeymoon but of course they are not on board without family, friends and a murder to solve!!

While being stalked by the killer on the islands their cruise ship stops at, they still manage to have some fun with their friends and Skye and Trixie get some fabulous batik fabric shopping in! Made me drool over the beautiful descriptions of the fabric - I am a fabriholic, so of course I would love to take a cruise and go shopping there!

Will they all put their heads together and figure out the killer, or will May be hauled off to be questioned by the FBI when they get back to the US?

Read it and see....you will love it!!

the cruise

I think I liked this book most of all because May played a major part in this book, and this time her character wasn't always just bugging Sky but she was actually with the group in trying to solve the murder. I think Sky and Trixie make a cool couple this is not their first mystery to try and solve, but with added spouses it made the book more interesting because you got to see more of the personalities for Jed and Owen.

This book did have me glued. I couldn't put my phone down to stop listening. This was the first time I was so unsure of who the murder was, but I enjoyed going along the journey with them in solving the murder. The one part of the book that had me nervous was when sky got stabbed and I really thought she was hurt very bad. Overall great book, there are 2 more books left in this series and I am very curious to see how they end.
