No distinction between voices

I wanted to love as i am a sucker for cozy British stories but I couldn't follow the story properly due to similarities in characters ' voices.

Narrator is wonderful.

All right, I'm not finished listening but I was nearly put off by the bad reviews of the narrator. I think this reading is brilliant. I did have a time listening to the first chapter because I kept laughing but, to be honest, the characters sound...well, British. I've done five trips, so far, to England and, just like the good old USA, they have a variety of ways of expressing themselves, not to mention a variety of accents. This isn't Poirot and not meant to be. This is a pure delight, combining mystery with humor. In fact, it reminds me of All Creatures Great and Small, a book that captured the endearing character and characters of the region. I am loving the story so much, the absurdity of life, frankly, I don't even care where it goes from here. The journey itself is a pure delight. Just as an aside, anti-virus makes writing such a challenge. If one doesn't edit no telling what it will say.. I am leaving in its last correction. Auto-correct and anti-virus should not be the same. On second thought...

Meh

The editing is not great.. there are several times where a phrase is repeated that was intended to be edited out.

Narration is a little grating, storyline a little predictable.

Narration was difficult to listen to.

The story line was ok, however the narrator seemed to be yelling through much of the book. Made it very distracting to follow the story and took away from enjoying the book.

Never disappointed

Hannah is funny and witty, and I look forward to more of her books being available on Audible. She’s a wonderful author.

Entertaining story; poor narration

The storyline was entertaining, but the narration grated on my nerves (especially when the narrator was voicing the mother). It seemed too forced and high pitched. There were also several places where a sentence was repeated. All in all, I might read more of the series on Kindle, but I won't listen to any more of it on Audible (if the narrator is the same for the whole series).

Surprisingly Good

This is my first book by Hannah Dennison. It was enjoyable with well developed characters. The only thing I didn't like was that it seemed to drag a bit towards the end. I look forward to the next book.

Really good storyline.

It wasn’t easy to put this story down. The characters were interesting and the descriptions of the area were very good. The ending surprised me on several levels. Good and not so good.

Good local site and interesting history

If you enjoy books set in rural British places, this little story is entertaining. The heroine is a bit beyond innocent, naive heroine, but her mom is interesting.

Slow start/ good ending

I nearly stopped listening as it was becoming tedious. I hung in and I am glad I did. The last third was quite entertaining. I will probably do the next one in the series.
