Publisher's Summary

Captain Leland Stottlemayer is faced with budget cuts and trims Monk's services as an expense. Though he insists it's nothing personal, when Monk's offers to help for no charge are declined, he and Natalie suspect otherwise.

But Monk is too compulsive to stop investigating. So when Stottlemayer is arrested for the killing of another cop with overwhelming evidence against him, he must turn to the only detective who can prove his innocence.

New narrator is great

I have listened to the three other installments of the MONK books, and this addition is equally as delightful. The light and fluffiness of this novel, mixed in with a little mystery and murder are just as enjoyable as the TV show.

The new narrator is great, her voice is fluid and enjoyable to the ears, and even though the novelist enjoys to overuse the word 'said' her voice is so pleasent it isn't as noticable.

This is a must read for any MONK fan or anyone who is looking for a light and fluffy mystery novel without alot of gore and violence.

Comfy and relaxing mystery

It is difficult to find a good story and perfect narration in an audiobook. However, the Monk books fit the bill. Excellent narration provides a relaxing listening experience.

Not as good as the previous books

I am a Monk-a-file. I really enjoy everything Monk. I thought I would have the same enjoyment I have had from the series as well as the previous books. I was not pleased at all. This book left me wanting anything else. Monk's character was not correct and the book did not follow the others in details. I hope the next books are better.
