Publisher's summary

Welcome to Nocturne Falls, the town that celebrates Halloween 365 days a year.

Jayne Frost is a lot of things. Winter elf, Jack Frost's daughter, Santa Claus' niece, heir to the Winter Throne, and now private investigator. Sort of.

When Lark Bramble, an old frenemy, shows up in Nocturne Falls, Jayne finds herself reliving the painful past and trying to make responsible decisions that won’t mess up her future. But being an adult proves harder than she thought.

Finally at peace with where things stand between her and Lark, Jayne thinks everything’s cool until a chilling event at the Black and Orange Ball shatters that peace and puts Jayne at odds with the powers that be. She knows she’s on thin ice, but she’s determined to crack the caper.

Can Jayne find a way to right the wrongs she might have caused, or will she forever bear the guilt of allowing herself to be snowed again?

Zombie dougnuts for the Win!!

I loved this book! Now I enjoy all of the Jayne Frost books, however this one has to be my favorite! We get to see all the same characters from previous books and a few new ones. In this book Lark, Jayne’s old college BFF now frenemy has come to Nocturne to work the Orange and Black ball as a DJ. Can Jayne really forgive Lark with all that she has done? I loved getting to see Jayne’s mom and Aunt come to Nocturne! Also I really love Spider, and he really loves his Chicken Party! I feel like Hollis McCarthy really captures Jayne! I love the narration specially her voice for Grayson and Spider!! I can’t wait for the next Jayne Frost book!!

Cute stories, annoying narration

But why cant she resist a handsome man. Just be with Cooper and keep it to yourself. And why is she falling for the new guy so fast?

Exciting case for the Winter Princess

This is my new favorite book from this series. These books keep getting better as they go. Miss Frost Cracks a Caper is book 4 in the series.

I loved almost everything about this book from beginning to end. It was captivating and I couldn't wait to solve the crime. The only thing that I didn't really care for is how the author wrote the story for Cooper and Grayson, especially toward the end. It was pretty contrived.

The same narrator reads this book as the prior books in the series. I'm not fond of some of her character voices, such as Juniper's, but she does a good job overall. She reads a bit slow but once I speed it up, it doesn't matter.

I give this book 5 stars and I highly recommend the series.

Formulaic but Adorable

I love the Amanda Ronconhi as a reader and the series by Kristin Painter never fail to amuse. This particular Caper was a little sad, but necessary to push the storyline forward.
I recommend reading them in order.

Team Greylyn

I dont see how Jane fell head over for this man who appears self centered to me. The summer elf is a lover, if he loved her as much as he say he would have fought for her. Greylyn is the one for her not Sinclair.

Less baby-talk

I'm really enjoying the Miss Frost stories, and the narrator is SO great, most of the time...except when she voices Jane like Betty Boop.
I was a little turned off by the "solution" to the love (now triangle). Maybe this means further stories will focus more on Jane's sleuthing, and less on the "every man she meets falls madly in love with Jane".

Another sweet, exciting, adventure!

It’s not enough that Lark has come back in to Jayne’s life. Now her already muddled love life is getting messier. I may be team Grayson all the way but him & Cooper may need to look out for the new man in town whose name is Sin. Recently relocated to Nocturne Falls, Sin owns the donut store and is H-O-T hot. Sexy men and sweets are kind of her downfall after all. With the recent burglaries and a mega Halloween party, themed after Winter, in the near future things are getting icy. Can Miss Frost solve the latest mystery and not get hurt?

Another sweet, exciting, adventure in Nocturne Falls!
