Publisher's Summary

For seven books, Clive Cussler has dazzled readers with the "spine-tingling adventures" (Chicago Tribune) of Kurt Austin, Joe Zavala, and the rest of the NUMA(r) Special Assignments Team, but in Medusa, the NUMA(r) team faces what may be its most perilous mission of all.

In the Micronesian Islands, a top secret, U.S. government-sponsored undersea lab conducting vital biomedical research on a rare jellyfish known as the Blue Medusa suddenly disappears. At the same time, off Bermuda, a bathysphere is attacked by an underwater vehicle and left helpless a half mile below the surface, its passengers - including Zavala - left to die. Only Kurt Austin's heroic measures save them from a watery grave, but, suspecting a connection, Austin puts the NUMA(r) team on the case. He has no idea what he's just gotten them all into.

A hideous series of medical experiments...an extraordinarily ambitious Chinese criminal organization...a secret new virus that threatens to set off a worldwide pandemic. Austin and Zavala have been in tight spots before, but this time it's not just their own skins they're trying to save - it's the lives of millions.

Filled with the high-stakes suspense and boundless invention unique to Cussler, Medusa is the most thrilling novel yet from the grand master of adventure.

Critic Reviews

"Scott Brick adds texture to one of Cussler's deep sea adventures; the timbre and tone of his voice are pleasing—even as he ratchets up the tension to the story's memorable climax." (Publishers Weekly)

Another Clive Cussler winner

This one started off slow but became a real page turner about half way through the book. It is classic CC with twists, turns and surprises. I highly recommend it. Scott Brick does his usual excellent job as narrator.

Classic Cussler with Austin Stlye

I was not disappointed because the formula for the Austin series is the same. Not as dynamic as the Dirk Pitt series but now it is progressing towards be JUST AS GOOD.

Cussler and Kemprecos in fine form

As a long time fan of Clive Cussler, I eagerly await each new novel. When he was writing on his own sometimes it was a long wait. When Kemprecos signed on to write with Cussler, I was impressed with the joint writing style and the way the plot story lines came together.
No matter who Clive Cussler writes with I look forward to each new novel, and I have never been disappointed. Scott Brick rules as the narrator, his is a voice easy to listen to, and his character styling is great.

Can't beat Clive Cussler and Scott Brick

Although I didn't find this particular story to be one of Mr. Cussler's best, it is still a great book. I feel like I'm in my cozy place when listening to Scott Brick performing a Clive Cussler novel for me. May there always be another one. I don't want it to stop.

Great story and fun characters

Loved the story, and the usual range of characters stretching from heroic to outright evil.

Story:Good, Audio Quality: A bit rough in parts.

I enjoyed the story but there were a couple of sections of the story where the audio quality was poor, as if the cd that the revising was taken off of was scratched a little or dirty.
