Publisher's summary

Every crime scene has a smell. A look. A trail of DNA. It also has a feel. An emotional residue that lingers... floating unseen, like bacteria in the air, just waiting to be absorbed. To be interpreted. And only the man, the woman, and the boy know this. < /p>

He's called the Harbinger, a serial killer using Georgia and Florida as his hunting and dumping ground. But when he sends a letter to the federal/state task force that has assembled to find him, he leaves a mark that immediately catches Kate and Weston's attention: The circumpunct. The symbol of the Beast.

But when Kate, Weston, and Christopher journey to Florida to take a closer look, they're sidelined in Apalache Springs, where a friend of Kate's - a retired judge - has been arrested for drunk driving and assault on a police officer.

As Kate tries to help her old friend, Christopher soon finds himself controlled by a spirit who wants payback for a decades-old murder. A spirit who sees Kate as the instrument of her revenge.

Any additional comments?

Reckoning for the Damned is the 3rd book in the Linger Paranormal Thriller series by author Edward Fallon. This represents the half-way point for the saga, it is as good as the two previous chapters and brings new thrilling adventures.

In Reckoning for the Damned we follow the trail of the serial killer dubbed The Beast, alongside our three heroes, Kate Messenger, Noah and Christopher. The book picks up a few hours after the events in Linger 2: Trail of the Beast as this odd fellowship travels through Florida in hot pursuit for the murderer that brought so much collective suffering to each of them. Kate and Christopher decide to stop for a day in Apalache Springs to see if they can help an old acquaintance of Kate’s, a Judge, whom is in big trouble after he got picked up by the Police for Driving While Intoxicated and Resisting Arrest…

Some agents from the Federal Bureau of Investigation storm the town, suspecting the Judge to be a vicious criminal known as the Harbinger, but Kate, Noah and the blind boy Christopher think different. They are pulled into the FBI’s investigation and at some point bodies start to pile up all over the quiet and peaceful town.

I don’t want to spoil the story for you so all I’ll say is that Reckoning for the Damned is full of mysteries, paranormal activities, tense moments and action. Oh, yeah, and it will blow you away with an event that takes place before the end of the book. The writing is clean, sharp, witty and the plot is very interesting, thrilling and entertaining.

Susanna Burney returns yet again to give life to Kate Messenger, Noah Weston and to the young Christopher. She does a fantastic job with all the voices and local accents, bringing the narrative experience to the highest level possible, immersing the listener into this world of thrilling paranormal mysteries.

Reckoning for the Damned is around 5 hours long, as an audiobook, and it was a great listen! I still need to get in touch with the authors to suggest a new release for the complete Linger series as a single audiobook. That should be around 25 hours and would be a great package for the potential buyer…

Already started Linger 4 and will post a review soon!
