Publisher's summary

Stone Barrington is back in this thrilling new page-turner from the perennially entertaining New York Times best-selling author.

Stone Barrington is back in New York, and after a rather harrowing sojourn in Key West, he's looking to stay closer to home and work on some simple divorce and custody cases for Woodman & Weld. But when he crosses paths with a fetching Broadway actress - and sometime lip model - Stone gets a little more deeply involved with business than he'd expected. When his new lady love turns out to be a lady with a shady past, Stone and downtown cop Dino Bacchetti realize that her beauty may have an unusually high price.

“POW!!! He’s back with more twists and trysts.” (The Mystery Reader)

“Entertaining...Woods devises plenty of snarls to provoke laughs and keep the action interesting in a series that excels at playing out male fantasies.” (Publishers Weekly, starred review)

“A fun, breezy page-turner.” (Booklist)

A little too sexually graphic for my taste.

No real mystery or suspense.
Narrator did the best he could with the material.

Wish I hadn't bought this one!

I'm half way through this book and can't wait for it to "get to the point" or at least END. Nothing much has happened yet except Stone's escapades in the bedroom and even that is boring. I'm not sure if it's the story or the narration, but this one leaves me dry! It's the first Audible book I have regreted buying!

OMG!

I REALLY wished I had paid attention to reviews before I jumped into this one. I have been a member of audible.com for years and I am lucky I have only had a hand full of books that I disliked. This has to be on the top of my list. I realize this is just a story but come on.. it is HORRIBLE! The narrator does not really help this book either. And I totally agree with Nancy in Tampa. I quit listening because I kept finding myself screaming "YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME". Don't waste your money or a credit!

This can't be Stuart Woods

I'm not sure who is writing these last few books - a ghost writer perhaps?! They continue to get worse. Mr. Woods used to be one of my favorite writers... I agree with Denny from Sandy, Utah whole heartedly! No plot, the narrator is the least favorite of the narrators I have heard. He sounds like an 80 year old smoker, certainly not the suave image that Stone Barrington gives off. I won't be wasting any more credits on Mr. Woods books either as I have a sneaking suspicion that he isn't writing them!

No more....

I GIVE UP! I've been a fan of Mr. Woods since White Cargo, Palindrome and early Stone novels but his last 4 or 5 books have been ridiculous. Stone Barrington's character has become completely unrealistic and absurd. Who talks like that? And, don't get me going on the narrator - he has to be the worst in my library collection of over 400 titles. No more wasted credits on Stuart Woods - even Holly Barker from his other books has gone over the top.

Awful

I have listened to most of the Stuart Woods books on audible and found the Stone Barrington series getting worse and worse. The plots are getting thinner and thinner, most of the book devoted to various meaningless sex segments with no relationship to the story. Don't bother with this one. It is totally unbelieveable. He must have hired some bonehead to help him write it.

The only unusually high price was paid by ME for downloading this book, and if you see Stone Barrington listed in the attorney section of your yellow pages, let your fingers continue walking.
Life is good for Mr. Barrington. Daily/weekly routine consist of sex, nap, more sex, more naps,a little dinner, a little lunch, a lot of bourbon, more sex, more naps. There you have it.

to much sex not enough storyline

I love Tony Robert's but this book is more porn than crime novel. if you have to fast forward just to finish it's not worth the credit

TERRIBLE and BORING

I am not sure what is worse - the reader or the plot of this book. I have an hour left in the book and I'm just dying for it to end - completely boring plot, characters, story, everything - just so boring, and what's up with all the random sex stuff - is that supposed to be interesting? and the reader makes everyone sound 65 years old, (male AND females) and a heavy smoker. This guy has nothing on Dick Hill, who does the Lee Child Jack Reacher series and is excellent.
