Wrong myths about Red heads

This is another out of the park story, but if you haven’t noticed you will after reading this book and what I’m about to say will not ruin the story. The author keeps saying people with red hair are wrong. I have (Natural) red hair and I love purple and pink and wear both and people actually has always completed me. Light pinks are best not one with a lot of red, now that’s a color that doesn’t look good, same as orange. Most people believe that if you have red hair that you should earth tones, can I say How BORING that is. Is that who you are. Actually most red haired people look better in jewel tones (except a few). These are just a few things I had to get straight about red hair 👩🏻‍🦰

Readers voice

I'm sorry but the readers voice sounds to old for some one in their thirties or younger. it was VERY hard to listen to.

I’m tired of her family opinions about her weight.

It is getting old. Every book several times in the book. I’m not sure if I will continue with this series.

The obsession with looks is tiring

This is the 9th Hannah Swensen book I have listened to and I really don't think I will continue. The obsession with weight and looks that Hannah, Andrea, and Dolores have is so grating. It seems like it is getting to be more and more of the story, each book, that the mom, Dolores, was borderline abusive with how she harps on her daughters looks and now at least the older 2 have an unhealthy relationship with food and their looks. Hannah mentions how she can't wear red or pink or coral or purple probably a dozen times in just this book. Kind people like her business partner even say how those colors look horrible on her. Andrea thankfully has finally dropped saying how she is a real estate agent every other sentence but now she is obsessing over her AND her daughter Tracey's looks. How Tracey is such a smart, emotionally intelligent child when her mother leaves the parenting to someone else and when her mother is around they are dressing up for some party or a Mother/daughter look-a-like contest is beyond me.

Hannah's judgement of hownpeople speak because she was an English major is also so irritating. Hannah has proven she has many flaws includong butting her nose in where she shouldn't, putting herawlf in dangerous situations and she has 2 man proposing to her and she strings them both along but she wants to judge other people's use of can/may. These books are like junkfood and I guess I have just consumed too much cause I can't take it anymore.

Also Hannah you own a whole darn bakery and eat chocolate everyday, just eat the stinkin' fried candy bar already.

Ok but not great.

This was a light listen. It was an ok story line but seemed to drag in places. The reading of recipes was a little much I am sure in the print books it would be nice to have but they should have waited and read them all at the end of the book since it only hurt the flow of the story while listening to it. I thought the narrator played the main character's voice way to old. The main character is suppose to be in her 30's but the narrator sounded in her 50's or 60's to me even though she made other female character's sound the appropriate age. I will probably not be getting any more of this series to listen to but I might pick one up to read in print if I ever want a light easy read.

gads the recipes!!!

The story is okay, but wading through the recipes is awful. Who want to hear a recipe? Put them at the end! Ruined our reading!
