Publisher's summary

Hetta Coffey is a sassy Texan with a snazzy yacht, and she's not afraid to use it - most of the time.

She's an intrepid cruiser, but wild rumors of marauding gangs of flesh-shredding giant Humboldt squid on a rampage in the Sea of Cortez could keep even Hetta tied to an expensive dock. However, when the opportunity for an intriguing and highly lucrative charter arises she talks her best friend, Jan, into signing on for a mysterious cruise.

Damn the calamari! Full bank account ahead!

Loved It

This was the first book in the Hetta Coffey Series that I read and I must say that 'Just Different Devils' is a fantastic stand alone story within the series. The characters that Jinx Schwartz has created in this series are just too much fun. A nice mix of true friendship, intrigue, action, danger, confusion and greed, this story has all of the things you'd want! My favorite part of this tale was the relationship between dog and dolphin. It just goes to show you that love knows no bounds! I would recommend this series to people who enjoy a bit of comedy and drama with their mysteries!

Just Different Devils

Hetta is relaxing on her boat when she has a job come through. She calls her bestie,Jan, to come help. Then all kinds of expensive items from food to television sets and fishing rods along with the most expensive wines available as well as tons of popcorn of all varieties. As they start to enjoy themselves the biggest question is who is coming? Color her surprise when it's someone she knows. From this point on her life does what it usually does---goes totally out of control. Now these two Texan women do what they do best--solve the mystery with panache but guns too!!
Stevie Puckett is fantastic as the narrator who brings these two crazy women and their friends to life!!
Fantastic audio and story!!

Mayhem & Murder

Hetty she is a strong independent sassy woman, her stories of murder and mayhem are always a delight. The audio was good and brought the story to life, and was good narration. Given audio for for my voluntary review and my honest opinion

Narrator!!

I had to return the audible and read on kindle. This narrator is terrible! I wish they would have stayed with the original.

Po Thang Meets Bubbles--A Tail of Two Species

I've been really enjoying a lot of audiobooks of late--engaging the brain while the body is otherwise occupied doing such mundanities as laundry, cleaning, shoveling snow . . . I started in on "Just Different Devils," the very first book I've read by Jinx Schwartz, and was immediately caught up in a FEMALE heroine off on the same sorts of hijinks usually reserved in thrillers to the male of the species. Occasionally bordering on the slapstick, Hetta Coffey, a forty-year-old adventuress who is living on a boat near Baja, Mexico, gets involved in a string of events with her dog, Po Thang, and an assorted group of friends with whom she's clearly had many an adventure in the past. We are treated to some delightful female bonding plus all the derring do and action of a Bruce Willis flick (Brucetta?), well narrated by Stevie Puckett who clearly has an ear for Scottish, Texan, and Spanish inflections.

Just different devils

Narration was poorly done. Took the interest from the story. How did Jan get that accent so suddenly??

Fun Series!

I had read a few books in this series and really enjoyed them, so I was thrilled for the opportunity to try one in audiobook format. Reading is great but the audiobook really brings this story to life in a most delightful way. Stevie Puckett did a great job with the narration and I had a terrific listening experience. Hetta's adventures are always tons of fun and this one is no different. Mayhem abounds when Hetta's at the helm and you're in for a devilishly good time! I would recommend Just Different Devils: Hetta Coffey Series, Book 7.

I love this series!

I have read and listened to several books by this author and narrator and so enjoy them. The characters are quirky and endearing. There is humor and twists in the book, which I love. Each story is original and standalone listens. This review is not a synopsis of the book, but my opinion. I think the books are getting better and better.
