The book is excellent but there are audio issues

Any additional comments?

The books is an excellent, well researched, historical cozy mystery but, unfortunately, whomever did the editing had some serious technical issues. There are multiple 2 - 3 second segments of what is obviously another book (narrated by a man) interspersed in this recording as well as the first 3 other books in the series (there may be more but I"m only on book 4 right now). It's extremely jarring even though it doesn't seem that any of the book is missing (i.e. the errant recording is cut in but doesn't seem to replace any content). The other review of the recording notes the same errors so it's not just a problem with the download I got.
I hope Audible (who did the recording) reedits the books and takes these glitches out.

Wonderful Molly Adventure!

If you could sum up In Like Flynn in three words, what would they be?

This book takes you out of New York City and into the upper class lifestyle as Molly goes undercover once again! It is suspenseful and well worth the read. However, the audio does some strange things, at times another story seems to pop into this one you don't seem to miss any important information but it is very surprising. I believe it is just an editing error but it is too bad .I Hope you enjoy this suspenseful and at times chilling story.

May be my favorite yet

I’d been avoiding this book for a while because based on the summary I just couldn’t imagine it being even a small fraction as intriguing as the others in the series thus far. Chapter 1 started with Molly finding herself in the middle of nothing like any of the previous books and I started looking forward to seeing how that would pan out. Chapter 4 introduced the mystery I initially thought would be dull and disinteresting along with some new complications in her relationships. Chapter 5 surprised me with a mystery within a mystery that hooked me!

I am always wary about series with characters I enjoy becoming stale a few books in because there’s nothing left to write about. I’m so glad that so far this book/series has proven to be nothing of the sort. While there was one event in the ongoing plot that disappointed me, the array of new characters introduced, multiple mysteries, and more adventure with an adept, exciting, and plucky heroine may have made this my favorite installment yet!

I love Molly Murphy expect for ….

…all the pondering!! It’s a bit much and can become rather tedious at times.

Aside from that one and only complaint, I’m having a great time working my way through the series; so glad I came across it! On to Book 5!

Her past rears its ugly head

After Molly reports a crime commited by an gang member Daniel arranges a police job for her out of town for her own protection. She is going undercover to collect evidence against a couple of spiritualists. Before she leaves she is asked to investigate the eight year old kidnapping of the couple's son. But all is not well within this household and Molly has her hands full just surviving. Plus while she is there she comes face to face with her past. Intriguing and entertaining.

Too many characters.

Would you listen to In Like Flynn again? Why?

No. The story wasn't believable and to many characters to keep straight. It just dragged on, on and on.

Would you recommend In Like Flynn to your friends? Why or why not?

No.

What about Nicola Barber’s performance did you like?

I loved the narrator. Poor story.

Any additional comments?

I have enjoyed all the Molly Murphy Books up until this one. In my opinion, this one fell short.

What a wonderful series ...

I must listen continuously until it's finished. If I fall asleep I click back till I hear something that sounds familiar and then continue on. The reader does a great job with the accents. Try one and you'll be hooked but start it from book one so it makes sense. Eleanor

I SOOOOO wanted to like this book...

I have tried so hard to get into this series, because I love Rhys Bowen and her Georgie series! But I just can't get behind a love interest who is such a slime-ball! I've been trying and trying, but the conclusion of this book was too much. I honestly like the rest of the book, but I know Daniel will be sticking around and he really pushes my buttons!

Good Gravy!!

This book was quite the ride! Daniel needs a good swift kick in the behind!!! Goodness, be a man with some back bone! Molly is off on another adventure and gets side tracked on a "cold case." Which proves not to be all that it seems.
I was so disappointed at who was killed off in this book. I kept waiting to find out that there had been some mistake. Sigh The murder came as a complete surprise!
I love this series and the narrator is one of my very favorites!
