Publisher's summary

The honeymoon is over, now the murders can begin. America's #1 thriller writer returns with his sexiest, scariest novel ever. Hotter than The Beach House and scarier than Kiss the Girls, James Patterson's explosive new thriller introduces a bride who is beautiful, talented, devoted, and deadly.

When a young investment banker dies of baffling causes, FBI agent John O'Hara immediately suspects the only witness, the banker's alluring and mysterious fiance. Nora Sinclair is a beautiful decorator who expects the best, and will do anything to get it. Agent O'Hara keeps closing in, but the stronger his case, the less he knows whether he's pursuing justice or his own fatal obsession. In a novel so compelling it reads like a collaboration with Alfred Hitchcock, James Patterson unveils surprise after surprise that will keep readers guessing until the last deadly kiss.

Critic reviews

"This is one canny thriller." (Publishers Weekly)
"The authors' use of plot twists and red herrings continues to the end of the story, and that, combined with Campbell and Davis's skill, keeps listeners on edge until the last word." (AudioFile)

First Time Patterson reader

I broke down and bought this book because of the reviews elsewhere. I'd have given it a higher rating except that the language was so foul. What a disappointment that such an imaginative storyteller could lack such creativity in his choice of words, especially from the female characters. I won't buy another Patterson novel again.

Not up to the standard of his early work

I was disappointed with this one. I have really enjoyed early Patterson novels like "Kiss the Girls" and "Along Came a Spider" but since he started using ghost writers and cranks these out so quickly they are missing the spark of his early work. They all seem to follow a formula and everything is predictable.

OK, not wonderful

One of those books you read and then forget. It passes the time, is interesting, but certainly not spellbinding.

A solid, fast paced mystery

Both loyal and new Patterson readers will certainly enjoy this solid mystery. Its classic elements of a fast pace, myriad twists and unforeseen turns, sex, love and violence makes it hard to stop listening. Add that a gorgeous woman is ?the bad guy? and you?ve got a story you?ll be anxious to tell your friends about this treat.

AWESOME!

I loved this story. It grabbed me from the start, and I enjoyed every minute of it. I would definitely recommend it.
I appreciated the use of REAL male and female voices. It is long overdue in audio books.

Good but...

I found this to be a good book overall, but it had problems throughout... the main character, Nora, began the story as an intelligent black widow type who carefully plotted her moves and never jumped the gun. But as the story went on she make several stupid choices and mistakes that didn't really fit in with the character. It was almost as if her flaws were magnified artifically... her mistakes weren't overly believable.

Much of the book is fairly predicatable, but it is a book you will want to finish to see what happens to the topless killer in hiding!

Enjoyable

While not a masterpiece, it was very enjoyable and I found it passed the time very quickly. For a beachy type book, you can't beat this.

Okay

I enjoyed the story, however, I prefer to listen to one narrator. I prefer to hear someone read the book, rather than listen to an attempt to make it a dramatic production. Also, the music that is added at times is very distracting and sometimes rather corny.

Keep it simple!

I could not even listen to the whole story because having a different voices narrate for each part was so distracting. I can use my imagination to embellish the story without any help! Keep is simple, one narrator please!!!!!

painful to the reader

Predictable with the ability to become another Sharon Stone loser movie.
