Publisher's Summary

Accident victim Faith Parker has done what her doctors feared she never would: awakened from the coma that held her prisoner for weeks. But she has no memory of the crash that nearly killed her - or the life that led up to it. Nor does she remember journalist Dinah Leighton, the steadfast friend who visited her in the hospital...until she disappeared without a trace. Now as Faith begins to regain her strength, she’s shocked by intimate dreams of a man she doesn’t recognize and tortured by visions of violence that feel painfully real. Something inexplicable ties her lost memories to Dinah’s chilling fate. But even as Faith tries to understand the connection and reach out to save Dinah, death is stalking both women. And one of them will not escape its lethal grasp. FBI agent Noah Bishop has a rare gift for seeing what others do not, a gift that helps him solve the most puzzling cases. Now, read more of his electrifying adventures in two stand-alone tales of psychic suspense.

Good performance

Had forgotten the fun of a Kay Hooper novel. Flights of fancy to enjoy on morning walks. Alyssa Bresnahan's voice is mesmerizing. I have listened to many of her narrations and have yet to be disappointed.
I enjoy Hooper's plots and well drawn characters. The ending is a bit predictable - she has done better. Fun nevertheless.

Good Story, Another poor narrator

What made the experience of listening to Hiding in the Shadows the most enjoyable?

This is my third go thru for the entire series and I still find myself wanting more of Bishop.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I must say I liked Faith and Dinah just as much as I did Bishop in this book. The interplay between them throughout the book was excellent.

How could the performance have been better?

It could have been read by someone else.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I love Kay Hooper"s Bishop series

It is deliciously dark, compelling, and hard to put down or in this case stop listening to. The romance, action, danger, sadness, mystery, and horror are well balanced in all her books. Her stories seemed designed to keep the reader on the edge of their seat and mutterong their own opinions of who done it, to themselves throughout the story only to be surprised by who it actually is. It is a great series sometimes creepy.

This story is ridiculous!

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

The ending. It was rather interesting until the end. Utterly unbelievable. I can go along with psychic powers, in fact it makes the book unique. But this was over the limit of my enjoyment with a story. Also the emotions portrayed were way over-blown.

This story goes into sci-fi, which I do not enjoy.

Would you ever listen to anything by Kay Hooper again?

Yes, up to now her books have been enjoyable.

What about Alyssa Bresnahan’s performance did you like?

She was the best part of the book.

What character would you cut from Hiding in the Shadows?

The characters were fine, and should have stayed that way.

Any additional comments?

I guess I have been lucky with Kay Hooper's books because I have enjoyed them immensely. I have one more I haven't listened to yet, then I must decide if I want to use credits on any more of her books.

Enjoyed the story, not so much the narrator

Where does Hiding in the Shadows rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I love Kay Hooper and her books. I could hear every breath the narrator took, though she tried to conceal it most of the time.

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

Learn how to breath quiter
