Publisher's Summary

After a failed marriage, Kelly Winters moves to the strange Californian coastal town of Haven to join her younger brother, expecting nothing more than a quiet life, new beginnings, and perhaps a little love. Instead, she enters a world of magic and murder. Not only does she learn she's a witch and has a powerful destiny linked to her long-lost parents, but she soon discovers the quaint town is full of secrets, lies, and an underlying darkness.

As the sun rises and the body of a local scuba instructor is pulled from the ocean, Kelly finds herself drawn into a dangerous murder mystery that will challenge everything she believes about herself, the town, and her family's history.

With the clock ticking and a killer on the loose, Kelly must risk everything in order to stop the darkness from taking hold of another innocent life. Now, if she can just get a handle on these new powers, her brothers antics, her batty aunt Barb, and a hot surfer with eyes for her, things might just work out.

Fun cozy mystery.

I enjoy a good cozy mystery and this was a fun one. Kelly moves to the coastal town of Haven to move in with her brother till she gets back on her feet. But this town is about to change her life forever when she is told that she is in fact a witch and she has a big destiny to fill.

There isn't much to say about the plot other than it was an easy book to read. The plot was paced nicely and it was a fast read. There wasn't anything memorable about the whole book and nothing stood out, in fact, I read this about a week or so ago and the details are already hazy. I did enjoy it, just didn't love it.

I did really like Kelly. Her marriage failed and she moves in with her brother. Her brother is very wealthy and I liked that Kelly was more grounded. She didn't like the butler waiting on her etc. She was smart and was easy to like.

In all, this was a good read. While I didn't love it, I liked it enough to want to continue wit the series. This sets the scene for, what I hope will become a great series.

Natalie Naudus read this well. She was easy to listen to and her tones and cadences were really good. I look forward to listening to more from her.

Hot guys, fun antics,a witch and a killer

Haven Witches Mystery, Book 1
By: Emma Watts
Narrated by: Natalie Naudus
This is an audible book I requested and the review is voluntary.
I really enjoyed this book, it was obviously a start to a new series and one I want to continue with. A gal moves in with her rich brother after a failed marriage. She doesn't realize she has the potential to be a witch or have magic. There is a murder in town. The whole town seems to have secrets and is small. It leaves the the upcoming books open for a lot of potential. This was a fun romp with a cute guys, crazy antics, trying to figure out magic, and underneath all that there is the need to find the killer. Good book.
The narrator did a fine job of keeping the book flowing smoothly and voices clear and perfectly performed. Nice job.

Not your typical witch story

Kelly Winters moves to Haven, California looking for a new start after her divorce. What she finds though, is a thousand years of family history that she knew nothing about.
Very good book. I listened to it in one sitting. Maybe would have liked a little bit more but as this is a first book in a series, I’m hoping the next books will be longer. Narration and production were both of high quality.

Fun magical cozy!

I really enjoyed this cozy mystery! Kelly moves in with her filthy rich youtube star brother after a nasty divorce. In the town of Haven she meets some odd characters and finds herself involved in murder investigations, an unknown family tradition and a little bit of budding romance as she settles into her new environment. The narrator does a great job and I was gripped from the beginning. I will certainly be listening to more! Kelly Winters moves to Haven to be with her brother after her marriage ends. Once arriving, Kelly finds out that she's actually from this town as everyone recognizes her as she looks like her mother. The Winters have been a part of Haven for many generations.

This was a cute mystery, with some witchery involved.. as Kelly is just learning about being a witch.

I enjoyed this book and the narration was excellent!

It is really funny!!!

Any additional comments?

What I did not expect in this book was how funny it was. I think some people must have thought I was nuts after I laughed out loud in public. I loved her characters, especially Kelly. However, I have to say that I know who did it quite quickly so the mystery was not as good but that is not what made me listen to the whole thing. As I said I loved some of her characters and I thought it was really funny.
I would highly recommend it to all since there is no profanity/violence/sexual content (except for some references).
I wouldn't mind reading the others in this series if it is anything like this book.
The narrator was great, she voiced all the characters and gave them their personal personality.
