Publisher's Summary

Move over, Jason Bourne! Step aside, Jack Ryan! Special Agent Vin Cooper's star is rising as he travels to the most dangerous corners of the world, investigating a conspiracy that reaches up the military chain of command, leading to an explosive ending that will leave listeners gasping.

When the U.S. attaché to Turkey is murdered, the first thing Special Agent Vin Cooper notices is how the killing was carried out with military efficiency. Cooper's investigation pairs him with a former lover, Special Agent Anna Masters, as they cross borders into the Middle East and find that enemies are armed and extremely dangerous, lurking around every corner. Their investigation uncovers a shadowy web trying to topple governments by any means necessary, and the conspirators will stop at nothing to silence Cooper.

Critic Reviews

"The convoluted trail leads them to a plot involving many countries, none of which has America's best interests at heart. The exciting, violent ending promises more thrills to come." (Publishers Weekly)
"Strong characters, nonstop action, and superb suspense." (Nelson DeMille)

Might have been a good story....

This might have been a good story... but the narrator was the absolute pits and I found myself trying not to listen. The narrator did not put any intonation into the story he just read it like a drone. Too bad the producer could not hear this and either corrected him or chosen another reader.

Can't get past the terrible narration

I'd stay away from this book, the narration makes it almost painful to listen. In fact, it's bad enough that you probably will stop listening as I did.

Audible should adopt some sort on quality control process to keep this from happening.
