Very fun!

I just finished all three books and really enjoyed the stories, I think you should read them in order as the characters really grow with each book. Your in for a treat - the narrator is very good and the writing is great!

Robert Parker-ish. Really enjoyed

This felt a lot loke Robert Parker to me. Characters are likeable and you want to know more about them. The mystery seemed oddly spread out through the book, slow to start and slow to advance, while character revelation took up a lot of space. Once I recognized that this was deliberately done by the author and not a poorly written book, I found myself really liking the approach.

The narrator is very good, though I have to deduct points for his missed or misapplied emphases which cause confusion or ruin a good moment.

I loved it

I fell for Milo with the first chapter and was happy for his good fortune. I sat listening to this and found an almost permanent smile on my face due to pleasure, amazement, and some shock and awe moments. I enjoyed following along and seeing it all unfold. I had no idea who the villain was (I had a few others in mind for the job) beside Bonner himself. What a piece of work. He certainly knew how to ruffle feathers. I also liked how Milo knew some house secrets and readily shared them with his house mate. I enjoyed their comraderie. I look forward to more adventures with Milo. I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest review. The narrator did a great job bringing the characters and story to life.

Fun Cozy Mystery!

This was a great cozy mystery. An unexpected inheritance causes detective Milo to co-own a mansion along with the wealthy owner's son, Sutherland. Milo quickly goes from debt to wealth. As part of his new status, Milo accompanies Sutherland to a wealthy neighbor's New Years Eve party. The nasty husband of the host is murdered and Milo and the police line up the suspects. Everyone seems to have a motive. This story was a lot of fun. I really enjoyed it. Hopefully, this will be the first story in a series! I was gifted a copy of the audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

A 5* Murder mystery

Great Party! Sorry About the Murder! (A Milo Rathkey Mystery).. Great read so good in fact I wish book 2 was out now.
Brilliant characters, Storyline with lots of clues so if your really on the ball you can solve it yourself, if not then by the end you'll look at it and think why didn't I.
A real 5* mystery from a debut author (I think)
Tom Lennon adds so much to the characters I only hope he narrates the next one.

Ends with a Great Twist!

So many motives for murder! I loved how this book by D.B. Elrogg pulled me into the story. Being from Minnesota, I could visualize so much of the grand mansion houses from Duluth and the winter blizzards. The book has a very creative plot, unique characters, vivid imagery and so many unexpected twists. This book is a standalone listen and start of a series. It does end in a cliffhanger, but has the murder solved. Milo is a very likable character, who is a PI turned millionaire. Tom Lennon did a great performance with this book. I liked how he had distinguished voices for the various characters. I requested this review copy audiobook and have voluntarily written this review. I will definitely listen to more books by this author and narrator. The ending was spectacular!

Will be looking for the next in the series

I love series cozy's. This one is unique as any detective with the name of Milo from Duluth should be.

Once you get past the kind of far fetched sudden accumulation of wealth he experiences, the murder itself keeps you guessing right to the end with a final chapter twist you probably won't see coming.

For me Lennon sounds just like a Milo, though I am not sure what that even means.

Loved this listen!!

I had no idea what I was getting into with this listen. I loved the title and thought it would be fun. It was!

First off, Milo is one heck of a character. He is a retired-cop-turned-private-eye and had some rough edges. It was really special to watch him try to figure out his new place in the world with all of the money he inherited.

This story is well-written. It's a murder mystery but there was so much levity in the story that I forgot sometimes. I really like that this is book one in a series because I loved everyone and want to meet them again.

The narrator was awesome. There was a bit of special about all of the characters in this story and Lennon was in tune with them all.

The whodunnit was multi-layered and not really known until the very satisfying end. I can't imagine the fun yet to be had in book two.

Whodunit with a Twist

Milo Rathkey is definitely not your ordinary private Investigator he is on a much different level. I really enjoyed this little whodunit with its many twist and turns. The book was engaging and kept me entertained as well as on my seat either laughing or trying to figure out who and why. Tom Lennon did an amazing job as narrator he had the perfect voice for each character bringing them off the pages and giving them life. This book is a cliffhanger but it does reveal the who and why. I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves whodunit mysteries. This is my honest unbiased review.

Entertaining murder mystery

This is an entertaining murder mystery.. The combination of likable characters and a plethora of suspects makes for an enjoyable read. Tom Lennon did an excellent job with all the voices, especially Milo, the central character.. His narration was effective without being intrusive. This is a very good introduction to the Milo Rathkey series.
