Publisher's Summary

A riveting serial killer thriller

Her beautiful face, serene and immobile, resting on her folded arm. Her long, luscious hair, undulating gently in the evening breeze. Her eyes half-closed, a hint of a smile on her pale lips, as if to welcome an unseen lover.

When the body of a young woman is found in her own backyard, a week after her disappearance, evidence leads investigators to a chilling conclusion. She is not the first victim of a serial killer no one knew existed. She most definitely is not the last.

FBI Special Agent Tess Winnett joins the local detectives assigned to the case and searches for answers in the intriguing investigation that offers a plethora of forensic evidence, yet no viable leads. When another body is found, the search intensifies, and details about the killer's unusual signature emerge. He likes to stalk his victims before abducting them. He likes to show them a flash of what's coming, a foreboding warning of their grim futures.

At first, she caught a glimpse of a man, standing in the shadows, watching her.

She thought she saw his eyes, and the sight of them chilled her to the bone.

She saw his hands, and they were the hands of a killer.

She caught a Glimpse of Death.

Join smart, relentless Tess Winnett and her seasoned team on a heart-stopping hunt for a serial killer, who mercilessly takes lives, preying on young, unsuspecting mothers. Resourceful, creative, and uncompromising, Tess will stop at nothing to catch the killer before he shatters another innocent life, taking listeners on a memorable, white-knuckled journey in this masterful, riveting, serial killer thriller.

The best-selling author of Dawn Girl and The Watson Girl is back with another suspenseful, riveting, crime thriller. If you're a fan of David Baldacci, Michael Connelly, and James Patterson, you will enjoy listening to Leslie Wolfe.

Leslie Wolfe might be my new favorite thriller writer! FBI Agent Tess Winnett recovers from an injury sustained on the job while hunting for a new serial killer from her hospital bed. I love this character because she is strong, snarky, vulnerable, badass - all the things a hero should be and it's really nice that she's a woman!

This thriller has satisfying twists that kept me listening well past when I intended. Andrew Tell does a fantastic job of narration; this story is interesting, tight and thrilling. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys murder mysteries!

Just when I thought I had it figured out, the plot twisted. This is the second book by Wolfe that I have listened to and it didn't disappoint. I will listen to more. It has a great story line and the narrator did a great job- it wasn't overdone like some other books I've listened to lately.

    "My New Favorite author"
Would you listen to Glimpse of Death again? Why?

Leslie Wolfe really does a great job of character development. The characters are believable as well as the actions they perform. She really does a good job of getting you into the mind of the different participants in the story.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Tess Winnett was easily my favorite character. She is very intuitive, strong and determined. I would love to be like her.

What does Andrew Tell bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Andrew Tell really does a good job of having different voices for each character. It allows you to envision the character as you are progressing through the story.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

If this were made into a film, I would probably say the tag line should be: Suspenseful Serial Killer Story!!

"A Wicked Peek into the Mind of Evil"

Each book in this series is better than the last. Leslie Wolfe is a master story teller and Glimpse of Death is not your typical serial killer story. This book is an exciting page turner, even though I listened to it on audiobook. The suspense built with every chapter and I was surprised by the ending. FBI Special Agent Tess Winnett has become my favorite sleuth and she is surrounded by a brilliant cast of agents, cops and scientists. As usual, this story twisted and turned as the clues built up to the reveal. I love this narrator, Andrew Tell. He becomes each character in classic mystery style. If you love a well crafted thriller this is the book, and series, for you. I am anxiously waiting for more from Agent Tess.

    "Leslie Wolfe does it again!"
    Any additional comments?

It's obvious to me that Leslie Wolfe loves to research for her novels, as she puts so many interesting snippets in her books; I feel as if I learn something with each of her books that I read. This book is gripping and intense, and I wanted to speed through it to the end to see if I was right about who the unsub was. I had an inkling, and she hits it out of the park again with this book. There are 2 reasons why this book is a 4 star read instead of a 5 star read, and neither should keep anyone from picking up a copy. First, sometimes the explanations get a bit tedious; if you've seen an episode of Criminal Minds, CSI, or read any police procedural, you don't need things dumbed down or explained in explicit detail. There has to be a fine line between talking above your reader's heads and dumbing things down too much (or explaining too much, if that's a real thing?), but in a few cases in this book, it comes across as the latter. The second criticism I have for this book, is that the ending, or the big reveal is a bit too short for my taste. It's quite a bit better than Dawn Girl, but I still like a bit more bulk to my reveal and climax after all that buildup than just a couple minute's worth; it almost seems like a letdown or a gimme. Otherwise, there isn't much to criticize, and I think that Leslie is a great up-and-coming voice in crime fiction; I've thoroughly enjoyed reading her last couple novels. They're creepy, suspenseful, and highly entertaining, while still being realistic and well-thought out.

I was gifted an audiobook copy in exchange for an honest review, so I can't comment on any spelling/grammar issues in the book. The narrator, Andrew Tell is a professional narrator, but I think he could do a bit better in differentiating between characters in dialogue, as there are a few times where it got a bit confusing as to whom was speaking. Otherwise, this was a high quality, professional recording, and I didn't hear any production/quality issues. This was an enjoyable listen and I couldn't wait to listen more; I wasn't just listening on my daily drives as usual, I was listening while cooking, cleaning, and walking my dogs! Thanks to the author, Leslie Wolfe, for the Audible code in exchange for this review.

    "Good thriller...good story"
Would you listen to Glimpse of Death again? Why?

Probably not, because I already know who the criminals are and part of the fun of listening to or reading a thriller or mystery book is to figure out who dunnit.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Glimpse of Death?

Finding out the truth about the nurse's husband

Would you listen to another book narrated by Andrew Tell?

Probably. He had a tendency to make all the dialogue sound angry. I'm not sure if he intended it to be that way or if he believed the characters were always mad. I would want to see if that is just the way he performed it or if he speaks that way in all of his narrations. Overall his voice quality, tempo and understandability were very good.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

    No extreme reaction

    Any additional comments?

    "Interesting Police Procedural!"

This was my first time listening to a book by Leslie Wolfe and read by Andrew Tell. I really enjoyed the both. The narator did a great job adjusting his voices for each character. The book was suspensful and the protagonist was the perfect amount of evil. I recommend this to anyone that enjoys police procedurals, mysteries, and serial killer fiction. I will definitely look for more books by Leslie Wolfe.

    "Enjoyable story"

The character dialogue was flawless. The world building and execution were very good. However, the story was too predictable for me. I had the rapist & killer pegged from the beginning and knew the nurse would be the weak link. The multiple different character points of view was at times, early on, hard to track but did improve as time went on. The narrator did a good job!
