Publisher's summary

A gifted 7-year-old boy and his teen siblings are ripped from their peaceful lives, kidnapped by a sinister organization determined to get back at their father. But when their plane crashes an ocean away in the bear-infested jungles of South China, the mysterious motive behind their abduction is the least of their problems, and they must lever every ounce of their courage and wits to survive the wilds and escape the ruthless drug lord who is hot on their heels.

Important Note: Gifted is a compilation novella taken from the Brainrush thriller novels Brainchild and Smoke and Mirrors, which are books four and five of the series. If you've heard those full-length novels, then you've already heard most of the contents of this novella.

WOW!

kidnapping, china, action-adventure, suspense, thriller

Fast paced and engaging, it grabs you by the imagination and won't let go! Told from the perspective of the child, and that certainly adds depth to it.
Bought as Whispersync at the suggestion of BookGorilla, I really appreciated the performance by R.C.Bray.

a waste of time and money

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

this book is the same as part of book 4 skip this book and listen to book 4

What could Richard Bard have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Richard or the publisher should have let it be known it was a repeat of book 4 which I have already read only this covers the childrens part of that book only

How could the performance have been better?

the proformance is fine but boring since I already heard it pretty much word for word in the previous book 4

What character would you cut from Gifted?

I would not have written it at all

Any additional comments?

it is my personal opinion that this is the publishers way to try to wring a bit more money from a series that is good by itself without paying for a book again. every part of this book is contained within book 4 and 5 but is simply the childrens especially alex's view of the situation which is already written in the main books. I did not finish gifted but skipped through after hearing the opening being the same word for word as book 4 and found nothing new in this book to add to the other books in the series

it's just bits and pieces of other book

I found the same chapters in another book all they're doing is just talkin one side instead of both sides

Why is this a thing?

This is just a recap of everything that happened to Alex and the kids in the last book. Nothing new was added to the story. Why did they even make this?
