Publisher's summary

Jake Adams is called back to the CIA to secure the rescue of an operative kidnapped in the Baltics and who is missing across the border in Russia.

As soon as he gets to Estonia, he quickly realizes the Russians are up to their old Cold War tricks. The Kremlin has sent tanks through Belarus and continues to fly warplanes into sovereign territory, while cruising warships off the coast of the Baltic nations. Will the Russians invade the Baltic States of Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania? If so, will NATO invoke Article Five of its charter, where an attack on one is an attack on all?

Jake becomes embroiled in a complex battle over hegemony of the Baltic States that could finally force NATO to do something about an increasingly belligerent Russian leadership. For Jake, this time it's personal.

Really poor narration

I love the Jake Adams series. Bronson Pinchot was excellent. I don’t like to be insulting, but this is the worst Audible narration I have ever heard. Please pay for someone better. I’m not sure I can listen to the next in the series. Ray Porter or Scott Brick or...literally anyone. Grab some guy of the street.

Look out Thor and Clancy, Scott's in town.

I was expecting a decent spy thriller but was blown away. I had actually been putting off listening to this because I thought this was going to be somewhere between mediocre and middling. Just your run of the mill, everyone's trying to get into the genre, spy thriller.
I hope I'm not giving this too high of a review because my expectation and reality were so far apart.
The author really gets you to care about this flawed MC full of integrity. And just when you think that the story will slow down for a bit, or it should slow down, you go for another loop on this fast paced rollercoaster.
Well written with no gratuitous anything, if you're like me, you are going to have trouble doing anything else until the story is done. When it's done, you're going to want the next one.
Purcell does a great job, as always, keeping the story moving and the characters alive and he changes his voice enough so that you know which character is saying what.
If you are a fan of the spy thriller genre you will definitely enjoy this book.
Happy reading.
