Publisher's Summary

Miles away from the shore, the Atlantic Whipper - carrying 10 passengers, 40 crew members, and a cargo of grain - is met by a terrible storm. Captain Matthew Harkness is faced with the task of keeping his ship afloat. As he waits for rescue, he is burdened with the thoughts of his wife, his crew, and the lives that may be cut short by the tremendous force of the gale.

enjoyed the story very much

Any additional comments?

once I had stopped trying to figure what decade it was set in.
captain, crew, passengers and cargo all play their part in this story of a merchant ship figting against gale force winds in the atlantic.
well written with good descriptions of the sea as the waves get higher and higher, also of what is happening on the land.
