Publisher's summary

Faith McMann comes home to a nightmare: her husband is killed and her son and daughter are taken. Although the intruders leave her for dead, she survives. Crippling grief and fear for her children make life unbearable. Until her anguish turns to anger...and she trades victimhood for vengeance.

Frustrated with the law's efforts, she takes action to rescue her children - and wreaks havoc on the brutal criminals who tore them from her. With her family and newfound allies at her side, Faith descends into the hellish underworld of human trafficking, determined to make those who prey on the innocent pray for mercy.

The forces she's up against have already proven that their ruthlessness knows no bounds. And there's nothing they won't do to turn Faith's crusade into a suicide mission. But they're about to learn that nothing is more dangerous than a mother fighting for her children - especially one who's earned the nickname Furious.

Great book!

This was a great book and has me waiting desperately for the next one to come out! I really like the narrator. She is easy to listen to and does a great job at portraying all the characters differently. If you like TR Ragan, you will not be disappointed with this book.

Stunning writing!

I usually don't write reviews, but T.R. Ragan has quickly become one of my favorite authors. What a beautiful mind that brings awareness to horrifying but real issues. Well done.

FRIGHTENING REALITY!

This is a change of pace and subject inf the books I've been listening to. With all of the wickedness in the world, this would be the most terrifying for me. To lose a child and never know what happened to him/her would be the ultimate cross to bear. This book brings home the possibility of harm to those we love. I think it was well written and I enjoyed the narration by Kate Rudd. I can't quite explain the way the ending left me feeling. I definitely await the next book in the series. However, is there ever a true ending? Even after the next book, my mind will always wonder how many more lost ones are out there...how many families are suffering and will never truly have an "ending". Thank you, T. R. Ragan, for shedding more light on a subject that we all know exists but tend to close our minds to. Yes, this book is worth the credit! Just hurry up with the next in the series!!!!

excellent but disturbing

This story is about every parent's worse nightmare. The abduction of children into human trafficking. It is about one woman's efforts to find her children against all odds. This book reveals the horrors that exist, even in you neighborhood or in the house next door. It is a tale of a mother's love that will take her to the depths of hell to find her children. The characters are well developed and the author is able to bring you into this family and you can feel their pain and determination. I look forward to the continuation of this story in the next book. I give this a 4.5 star. The narrator did a good job at the different " character" voices, but when she was just narrating, she was very robotic. Luckily, the story was good enough to keep me interested despite her monotone voice.

Intense and disturbing

This was one of the more disturbing mystery-thrillers that I have read. Faith's husband gets murdered in front of her eyes, and her two children are abducted. Faith is angry, and with little help from police, she turns her energy to getting her children back. Furious is the name she gives herself at Anger Management class. I can't say I liked this at the start, but I was compelled to listen. The novel lightens up slightly as we get to know more characters, many of whom become her allies. This novel moves between Faith, and a farm house where abducted children are held captive. This book is dedicated to the fight against human trafficking, so I knew what I was getting into. I did not like the ending, but it was meant to get you to continue this series. While I had enough of that sad world and will probably not read more, I was really engaged by this novel.

I wonder what narrator I heard

The reviews here have slammed the narration. I didn't actually mind it. She is not Scott Brick, of course, but... not everyone likes voice acting and dramatic enunciation either.

It was actually not too bad a story. It is not a 5* story - the pacing is a bit odd for that, and, realistically, there is no way she would have "succeeded" if it was not fiction. But it is fiction... so... some leeway granted. I also did not mind the ending - it is not a cliffhanger, and it left room for additional books in the series without making me feel unsatisfied with this story's wrap up.

I picked it up for a change of pace in my reading and it worked for that - overall, it was a decent story, decently written, and interesting enough that I will read more in the series.

Lousy ending.

The author just seemed to stop writing midstream. It was a good story but fell flat at the end, is this a series?
