Yummy good mystery

The ‘cupcake’ of a simmering romance with the super sweet ‘frosty’ murder mystery’ is delicious with numerous ingredients of hometown personalities. Delightful!

light hearted and simple

Good for a simple afternoon when you don't want to think to hard and just want to be entertained. I seem to turn to Joanne Fluke when I need some light hearted entertainment. Occasionally books seems very innocent and characters somewhat naive, which is hard to do when the main subject is supposed to be murder but Hanna Swenson just seems to find herself in the wrong place at the wrong time all the time. Plus, I always wind up hungry and wanting to bake which I is not like me at all normally. Those recipes sometimes make the book, but sometimes it is tedious having to listen to the narrator give all the variations for a single recipe.

Cozy mystery

Love this series. Getting to know the characters and what makes them tick. I enjoy all the trouble Hannah and her sister Andrea seem to get themselves in and love triangle Hannah, Norman and Mike.

Enough Already...

I actually like the stories, but at this point in the series, I'm over the boyfriends. Like, "Girl, you can't be getting mad at one guy who appears to be moving on while you're dating two men."

Watch out for the recipe

I've enjoyed all the Hannah books I've read/listened to. The narrator does a good job with the voices. I wish they had added a note that the last recipe (for fudge cupcakes) had an error. It is corrected during the story in the next book, but that was too late for me. I had cupcake batter ALL over my oven. The recipe called for baking SODA instead of baking POWDER. Beware all recipe testers!

Fudge Cupcake Murder synapse

Spoiler:

Fudge Cupcake Murder synapse: Chop Shop canceled by careening cupcakes.

I really enjoyed all of the throw backs to earlier mysteries in the series.

Great Book

Enjoyed this book very much. This was one they turned into a movie "Murder She Baked: Just Desserts" on the Hallmark Movie and Mystery channel. Loved the movie too. I really love the books they give you more back ground than the 2 hour movie, yet the movie stays close to the book. However, there is a small twist at the end of the book with this one. Nope, no spoiler alert here...you will have to watch the movie and read to book to discover it for yourself.

Hallmark movie/book similar, but book makes sense.

Okay, for those of us who saw the Hallmark movie, Murder, She Baked, we definitely recognize this story plot.
I started listening the Joanne Fluke's books because I could tell parts were missing to the movie plot. And I found that annoying when I can tell there is a hole or gap in the storyline. Well, the book storyline was familiar and it started to make sense as the book plot evolved. Glad it ended where it did. I am enjoying my "listen to" as I am doing other things. These are fun reads with nothing too much to make you think anything crazy.
