Watch out for the recipe

I've enjoyed all the Hannah books I've read/listened to. The narrator does a good job with the voices. I wish they had added a note that the last recipe (for fudge cupcakes) had an error. It is corrected during the story in the next book, but that was too late for me. I had cupcake batter ALL over my oven. The recipe called for baking SODA instead of baking POWDER. Beware all recipe testers!

Sorry to say...

This is the first title I've read by this author, and I admit to being quite disappointed. The characters are all immature in behavior, the dialog is very predictable, and the author has an annoying habit of explaining in detail things that are obvious to the reader/listener. I can't recommend this to serious mystery readers. The culprit is clear to the listener very early in the book.

Omg

I really love these books and the suspense that goes along with it when Hannah gets herself into trouble.

Great Book

Enjoyed this book very much. This was one they turned into a movie "Murder She Baked: Just Desserts" on the Hallmark Movie and Mystery channel. Loved the movie too. I really love the books they give you more back ground than the 2 hour movie, yet the movie stays close to the book. However, there is a small twist at the end of the book with this one. Nope, no spoiler alert here...you will have to watch the movie and read to book to discover it for yourself.

Enjoyable

Hannah's sister Andrea's husband Bill is running for sheriff (against the old-fashioned sexist one who wanted to jail an abused wife in a previous story). Then Hannah finds the sheriff's body in a dumpster behind the high school where she's teaching a cooking class, and Bill asks for help, and because Mike has put him on leave as a suspect! She agrees to help, even though she's already double booked with her business and writing a cookbook. (She's even on the hook to figure out the secret ingredient of a tricky recipe that a couple want in the book even tho the husband's mother took the secret to her grave). There are a fair number of suspects for who killed the sheriff - including his wife who can finally wear jeans and clothing SHE likes now that he's gone. Hannah's way with people elicits some crucial information about a secret compartment in a James Bond briefcase the sheriff had, and she enlists Norman's help in a little B&E to cop the briefcase. Turns out the sheriff had a secret weapon to win the election - he intended to solve a big case but when Hannah figures out the solution, she's next on the hit list.

Another great story

Hannah had done it again, her sleuthing gets her in trouble, but her hero’s are there just in time. As always once you think you know who did it, here comes a change.

Great Book

Love this series. Highly recommend if you enjoy clean murder/mystery books. Also recommend the series for the cookie recipes. 😀

Yummy good mystery

The ‘cupcake’ of a simmering romance with the super sweet ‘frosty’ murder mystery’ is delicious with numerous ingredients of hometown personalities. Delightful!

Enough Already...

I actually like the stories, but at this point in the series, I'm over the boyfriends. Like, "Girl, you can't be getting mad at one guy who appears to be moving on while you're dating two men."
