Publisher's summary

Far in the future, the Earth is surrounded by a half-mile thick layer of space junk, some of it trash, some of it giant advertising billboards, some of it space-winni vacationers. But Priest, a sexist narcotics detective for The Authority is more interested in the terrorist group whose strange new weapon took a pot shot at his city and atomized everything inside its target area--including his arm.

Priest finds himself partnered with the tough and sexy Rehna, a fellow Authority officer, and Gawyn, a brilliant little girl whose gruff attitude matches Priest's. The three of them track down the terrorists, and their weapon, while Priest looks to deliver his unique brand of justice and get compensation for not one, but two ruined Tac-suits.

"Rocket-boosted action, brilliant speculation, and the recreation of a horror out of the mythologic past, all seamlessly blend into a rollercoaster ride of suspense and adventure." (James Rollins, New York Times best-selling author of Jake Random and the Skull King's Shadow)
"With Threshold Jeremy Robinson goes pedal to the metal into very dark territory. Fast-paced, action-packed and wonderfully creepy! Highly recommended!" (Jonathan Maberry, NY Times best-selling author of Rot & Ruin)
"Jeremy Robinson is the next James Rollins" (Chris Kuzneski, NY Times best-selling author of The Secret Crown)

Good but too short

The story is good but far too short, there was lots of room for expansion. The wasn't enough "mystery" and clues. Where this could have been several hours of hunting, finding, and world building a lot of it is just kind of slung out there, and moved on from it.
Still good story, lots of fun. Perhaps it can be expanded into more of a novel / series later on. JR is a great author.

Fun Quick Sci-Fi Ride

This short adventure was a fun peek into what could be a whole series of novels about protagonist Priest and the terrorists, respectively. I'm ever amazed by how easily Robinson builds worlds and sucks me into their rich characters and histories. The only disappointment here was that it ended and now I want prequels about the character groups introduced here.

As usual, there was action spread across different locations and great distances, lots of bullets, an imperfect protagonist, a race against the clock, and even a brief romantic angle. This was fun.

Interesting Concept, too short

This was a very interesting story. The ideas behind it were fantastic and the story did have a nice flow to it. My only complaint is that it could have been fleshed out into a longer story or at least could be a prequel to a series.

Mr Kafer was fantastic as always.

A masterfully told short story

Jeffrey Kafer is one of the best narrators working today. I completely understand why Robinson works with him again and again. His voice just lends itself to almost any character and situation. This is another one of those cases that these two work perfectly together. Kafer is able to bring out the best in Robinson’s work time and again.

Sometimes a short story is just that… short. And sometimes its much, much more. From Above is one of those stories. I genuinely couldn’t believe the back story that Robinson was able to get into such a short story.

The characters were incredibly real and likable. Even the story itself seemed to be plausible. Yes, it’s a science fiction story that takes place in the near future, but even the way that things were laid out were totally believable.

The character interactions (and differences) made a unique subplot to this story, stealing the show at times. Needless to say, I’m not really surprised that I liked a Jeremy Robinson book. I really haven’t disliked anything I’ve read by him yet.

If you’re looking for a short story that will take 40 minutes or so — this novella/short story is for you.

A Short But Fun Story

This was another excellent audiobook from the duo of Jeremy Robinson and Jeffrey Kafer. The story was short but highly entertaining. I knew I was going to enjoy the story when I heard the opening sentence.

Awesome

We want more! This is a great short story. All the things I love about the burnt out cop meme.

It’s Meant to be Short

Most of the reviews are disappointed the story is so short. Personally I rather enjoy the occasional short story by my favorite authors. This story, for instance, had Jeremy Robinson dipping his toes into the idea of a 1940s big city detective transplanted in a sci-fi future. Would I have enjoyed a bit more character development? Nah. It hit where it needed too. Great audio production on this one. I’ve been critical of Kafer but he did really well with this one.

Very Good Short Story!

This was a very good short story; I wish it had been a full-length novel I didn’t want it to end so quickly. The characters were very likable, dialog was believable, and the storyline was very interesting which was aided by the excellent narration provided by Jeffrey Kafer. I received this audiobook from the author at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Too short.

Great narrator. Great author. Too short. Why wasn’t this made into a full novel? I’m sure this was a popular thing to listen to.

Every once in awhile Jeremy develops a great MC.

This story is so short, if you sneeze you'll miss it. But it is an interesting tale that might lead to a great series.
